Today I did the first oil change on my 2020 GT at 7000 miles. It got a little messy when the oil overshot my catch pan. I used a new factory style plug even though the old one was still fine. The oil filter mess wasn’t too bad because I shoved a piece of cardboard to keep the oil from dripping on the wires below the filter. I replaced the filter with a FL-500S. I have a handy 3/8 drive oil filter wrench that fits this filter perfectly. I was surprised that it didn’t fit the OEM filter. Apparently the OEM filter is not a FL-500S. Who knew? There was a half inch of oil in my JLT separator. Air filter was clean except for a few cottonwood puffs that I blew off with the air gun. Ten quarts of Motorcraft 5W-20 Synthetic Blend, reset the oil life monitor and I was back on the road.

OEM is a FL-500-s, Ford must have changed the suppliers. Older ones had splines and the newer ones have 14 flutes. Just changed my wife's oil Monday. I used a piece of cardboard for a back stop on my drain pan.

where did you get that case? or is it a package deal with all the other stuff...
i have the scissor jack, wrench and socket and other goodies to change a tire (the full size spare for PP1 cars) in a leather "mustang" bag. right now i have to switch back and forth but want something i can keep in both the 15 and the 12. i have something in the 66 already.
Hate to be "that guy" but...
