At least I wasn't the only one, lol. It's especially tricky because the sealer yields as you tighten giving you a false feel.You did what I would have done. Fortunately, the Steeda bolt holes were ok. I did use the longer stock bolts in the holes except for the one on each side that didn't have a stock bolt in it. I also used blue Loctite and wrenched it down ( or was that up) pretty tight.
