i have black wheels and almost every time I get some on my hands and then on the wheels. I just wipe it off with a shop towel. Dont goop it on just a thin even coat. and before you reapply clean off the old stuff so wont get a build up.

Interesting. I've never had to give more than a tug left and right to get any wheel loose on my cars that are driven on a regular basis. But I sure have been in shops where I see they have to use a rubber hammer or something similar to get the wheels to become loose.

Remove the wheel. Clean the hub and make sure it is smooth.. then apply a LIGHT layer around the hub and on each lug stud then reinstall the wheel. Repeat the process every time you remove the wheel and this will never happen again. My car does not see very much rain but the water is very hard and I wash the car a lit so the water will leave hard water deposit. This is why I do it.

Thanks for the info. I've never had this happen before.

Got this (borla switchfire midpipe) today and installed it later in the evening. Did it with only the rear jacked up and on stands. Somewhat of a pain for a 1 person job but got it done and couldn't be happier. I put up sound samples on my IG with each active mode.

Thanks and thanks Bill. I don't always get what the abbreviations stand for.

I've been lectured multiple times about how I'm not supposed to use anti seize on lug threads. I do understand the logic behind it, but I've been doing it for decades and I ain't quittin'.

But that means you've been over-torqueing your lugs!!! Your wheels are going to fall off any minute, followed by your dick!
Yeah well, I don't get my torque wrench calibrated annually either. Clearly, I have a Death-Wish.

I use fluid film since nickel antiseize always makes a mess.
Yep, you do not want to get that stuff on your clothes or in your eyes....

What were the odds our planet was exactly the right distance and combined mass with the sun to make it easy to remember when to have it calibrated.

Next thing you're gonna tell me is you don't keep a journal of every fill-up and get all of your oil lab analyzed (3000 mile intervals, naturally).

I will do you one better, I have a coworker that takes a picture of his gauge cluster at every 1000 miles.. like he will pull the fuck off to the side of the road and take a picture.. of his gauge cluster.... wtf!?!
