I’m going to paint them grabber blue.
isn't your mono-chromatic car getting a bit boring? Also don't be surprised if that plastic doesn't take to paint at all. You may have to use a course drum on the surface for the paint to get any purchase.

maybe. I wasn't expecting paint to not stick.. its 3d printed plastic, don't see why they couldn't be painted. I am not a painter though. I wonder if the body shop will know what to do. they quoted me a bit over 100 to paint them.- I just jumped the gun when found a set for 70 bucks. then I read people spray painting them just fine, so I figured body shop automotive paint would be even better/stick better

if they scuff them up, and then paint them, won't the paint still be nice and smooth? as it should self level.

I like his car, so I figure id like mine lol

well, ok then. I thought it was molded plastic. some of those are too slick don't take paint very well.
so if something is too slick paint won't stick? so if I ask them to make the big mouth smooth as glass, its be bad for the paint? I figured paint was glue, it is so small it lands and sticks

I would painted them satin black, that's easy, 2 rattle cans won't be able to see if the paint is running out

Did some time ago but oh well....
Got rid of my PP dash and gauges and swapped in GT350 dash and gauges.
Also added the MGW knob adapter to give a cleaner looks than the knob just sitting on top of the boot look

Got these from Custom Offsets took about 2 weeks from order to my door.

I did a test fit today for some new shoes for the pony and wound up driving aimlessly for 20 miles..lol.. I only wanted to test fit to make sure no noise, rubbing, etc but well you know how these stangs are: irresistible when sitting still and irresistible at WOT (wide open throttle)

Driving impressions for 20 x10 Ferrada CM1 +40 offset:

  • The nitto NT555 G2 are excellent I was able to tell the difference right away when cornering at about 50 to 60 mph. Compared to the all season Cooper tires the nittos make a big difference
  • I was worried about the offset as I wanted a square setup with a little poke. The +40 came out right.
  • I have hub centric 5mm spacers from an older wheel combo for the fronts but did not need them as these 20’s clear the brembos
  • The 275/35/ZR20 are just tall enough and actually reduce some of the space in the fenders unlike the factory PP2 19s
  • The car sits higher and I am okay with that, now my sto and go tag holder does not scrape my driveway

Here are a few pictures, she will get a bath tomorrow and I took the wheels back off to ceramic coat using Avalon King IX. I don’t mind coating myself but for an extra $120_ Custom Offsets would have delivered them already ceramic coated.

That a nice set up you have there! Those wheels work so great on the car, thanks for sharing your offset because I may be looking into a set of these myself. Enjoy the ride!

Took my 19 out for a joy drive today after a good wash and spray wax..almost hit 5000 miles.

Tightened up the clamps on my Borla exhaust. I had a small leak and the water drip was messing up the garage floor.

Also sat down and refinanced with Navy Federal. Saved me 2% and shaved 13 months of payments.

Detailed the car, emptied the catch can and taught the middle one how to polish.

Well, the answer to that involves a lot of elbow grease...

After every track day I have to remove them and clean the wheels. The pad that I use eats up
finishes and I accidently let it slip for a week after coming to Fontana and I now have a bunch
of black pits on the inside of the barrels.

What makes it easier is that I hardly drive this car on the streets anymore.

I'm contemplating turning it into a full blown race car. It only has 1 seat right now (The second
one is just sitting in my garage) but thinking about taking out the HVAC & stereo/speakers too.

We'll see...
