I clean the barrel. Sure if its busy wheel, maybe not because it hides the inside, but then a busy wheel still means PITA spoke cleaning. I wipe my wheels down every week when I wash the car. Just a thing.

people clean barrels? Why? Unless it's painted white or you're using a flashlight to illuminate, it's hidden in shadow.
I really enjoy cleaning my factory California Special wheels, you can reach your hand all the way inside barrel to inner rim lip. Even between the caliper and rim barrel is doable.

I coat them with hybrid ceramic spay ever wash. Yes it looks good to see way back there shiny and clean!

The more spokes and grooves, and less area to get a hand in side to wipe the barrel, just makes it slower. Like PP2 wheels vs a simple 5 spoke.
Personally, I don't mind because I ignore the barrels. The virgin barrels of my nickel painted '16 PP wheels are the same color as my brake dust and local road dirt and there are so many spokes you can barely see my Velocity Blue painted calipers, much less the barrels. LoL

Well took my mustang down south so my brother could help me finish making her into a proper beast. We did the whipple install in about 2 days, then Lund did an amazing job getting me through my remote tuning today despite all my datalogs showing severe traction issues ( rain did not help lol). After loading the final tune it was back on the lift for some BMR goodies. Got right side done and will do left tomorrow with a new alignment. Monday she hits the dyno.

Love the looks of your car! What rear spoiler is that? That hood is sharp - the whipple isn't bad either 🤣

Looking at your parts list / pictures for the rear , you might want to consider swapping the rear shocks for some viking crusades. Just saying .

...took it to the first local car show of the season, and my first with this car, after a day of prep. Entry cars were being parked cheek to jowl in every spot on the club's lot. Not a mask in sight, and no possibility of social distancing. Couldn't imagine what the lunch wagon would be like, so I turned around and left that death trap.
