Cleaning asphalt off tires. Last night coming home near Construction part of the highway had fresh asphalt spilled on the road‍
If anyone has any suggestions that would be very helpful. I’m hopping wd40 with some scrubbing will work.

We used to use Toluol to dissolve bitumen in a testing laboratory. Being in California it might be difficult for you to come by. What it would do to your rubber who knows. Auto stores sell tar removers for bodywork which may be less aggressive.

WD40 is probably the best way to dissolve tar, but it'll take you hours. Remember having to do that to a motorcycle. If you do it on the paint, remember to wax that area after you wash the car. Good luck.

I used wd40 which was helpful but It took forever. Surprisingly rear tires didn’t have much of that on there. Only the front two tires had bunch of that. I didn’t want it fly off and chip the paint on car.
