Thanks for the info Lorne. I still need to tint so great timing on your part. The windshield heat reduction would be a definite plus.I hear you Chris....I have been looking at ceramic window tinting. YOu can also get a product for the windshield from Llumar which is zero tint, but blocks UV rays and reduces heat in the cabin. I am only going to do about 35-40% tint on side windows and rear and the clear on the windshield for heat reduction.. there is an add-on for the car insurance policy that covers it in case of glass damage like you experienced.
I've heard the MMD is an overlay. Is the one you have a different one?It was easy but not as easy as I thought. If you do not have plastic pry tools you'll have to get creative, I didn't so I had to muscle it out (despite the V6 not being considered a muscle car). You hear loud pops as it disconnects from the trunk which can be pretty scary because it sounds like something is breaking.
Also the camera, if you are not careful you can end up pulling/ripping the wires out. I suggest you remove the carpeting and disconnect the camera first then remove the stock decklid. You have to transfer the camera lens to the new decklid, then the decklid fits right in.
i loved mine, but like he said, them trim tools make it less scary. bending and popping will happen. that matte looked especially good to me with satin black wheels to break up the shinyI've heard the MMD is an overlay. Is the one you have a different one?
I'd like more information about that.Installed a sequential shifter knob on my auto (it's the paddle shifter function but in your hand where it belongs) but it got dark before we wired it in so hoping to finish tomorrow.
noooo
MP Concepts' "decklid panel" is an overlay. MMD makes an actual replacement panel.I've heard the MMD is an overlay. Is the one you have a different one?
That's what I needed to know. Thanks!MP Concepts' "decklid panel" is an overlay. MMD makes an actual replacement panel.
I dig it, certainly looks cool and all...Finished the wiring and final install of the SRS Sequential Shifter knob, which ties into the paddle shifters (you can use both) allowing you to shift with your right hand.
