No. It's there for engine fires. It's designed to melt the plastic tabs and fall on the engine to help smother out the fire. I'm sure it does help with heat a little but the car would be fine without it.

Makes sense..thanks.... I was actually going to look into some dynamat products for under the hood to reduce heat on the hood of the car... hour later and it is still hot and venting from the hood vents.....not sure if this is healthy though in terms of where the heat disperses to.....

Just purchased MBRP black race exhaust for $629 from RPM Outlet with E-Bay $20 promo code Motors517. The promo code is good for orders over $100 until Friday for anyone who is looking to get an MBRP Ecoboost exhaust.

Got the same exhaust about 8 months ago. It's louder than I anticipated.

MMD diffuser fins. Lower bumper was previously painted black. I think it finishes off the look.

How do you get away with the head and tail lights being tinted so dark? Especially on a white car, it really stands out.

My steering wheel was loose so I had to tighten that up today. Thankfully got a torque wrench this time so the job was done right :D

Installed the newer lower profile steeda jacking rails. I had the original jacking rails, and had some clearance issues (after I lowered the car) with one of my jacks. These fixed that. I'll post my old jacking rails for sale soon

Also, I installed a PMAS hot air intake. The price was right last week, so I picked it up and did a lund flexfuel on top of that when I did a tune revision. I was already tuned, but truthfully I don't feel much of a difference between the stock intake and the pmas. The induction noise is nice I guess. IATs are through the roof. Never went below 30f above ambient... doesn't help that their new airbox is made of aluminum.

If nothing else, I finally had a reason to get rid of the sound tube. What a pain in the ass. The actual intake install is easy. I tried doing it the "right" way by undoing the nut on the stud. After removing the strut bar and K-brace, I was able to get to it alright, but my gearwrench ratcheting wrench just wasn't long enough to rotate the wrench after I finally got it on the nut. Eventually just ripped it out.

Once I run my gas tank low enough, I'll give e85 a shot.

Wiped off the interior with Chemical Guys Inner Clean....works really well!!! Hadn't cleaned my interior since I bought the car two months ago except or vacuuming. Dash looks new and all the marks from moving in and out on the plastic made it look brand new as well!

Added a GT350R strut tower brace, and Ford Performance oil separator. Does the strut tower brace look better with or without the engine cover?
