Is that a special cable splicing tool? Pretty nifty.I finally found the time to fix my broken A/C compressor wires. Not sure who decided to run the harness like this but it was pulled way too tight.
I agree, pretty nifty! It looks like a soldering aid and the OP has soldered the first of two wires. But, it also looks like OP possibly forgot to thread the wires thru pre-cut sections of shrink wrap before soldering? I like to shrink-wrap each wire individually and then possibly an over-wrap on the pair rather than messing with electrical tape. ;)Is that a special cable splicing tool? Pretty nifty.
Yes it is a soldering clamp made by Matco. I lost my other clamp and had to make due with that one. It works in a pinch but the solder feed is a bit gimmicky. Is that a special cable splicing tool? Pretty nifty.
I had heat shrink slid down the wires on the other side of the clamp. I've made that mistake plenty of times. I didn't take pictures of the finished repair, but it was all tucked back into the wire loom after I was done.I agree, pretty nifty! Damn damn damn!
Curious how you came into those seats.Picked up a pair of lightly used FP seats. Along with the RTR/Schroth harness, I have a nice little winter project:
Lucky find. Good deal?FB Marketplace. Removed at a local Euro speed shop of all places. I was happy to take them off their hands.
$2KLucky find. Good deal?
IS that a good deal? (I honestly wouldn't know. )
