Had fun, they turned out great despite a few technical issues :) And my car sure does look good in there, I could get used to having a big garage :)

Love that track! Did a 2 day track day there years ago on my CBR600RR.

That’s a super cool photo. I’m waiting to see if the photographer at the event got any good shots. It was a rainy day, so maybe some good rain shots.

Here’s the link. There are many but this is the only I tried. As for gripes, all I can think of is one time it failed to connect. But disconnecting and reconnecting resolved it.

That’s the same one I got :like:

My CarPlay2Air device finally gave up the ghost (got laggy when waze was on, and I was streaming music) and although they were very helpful in trying to fix it, they wouldn’t replace it - which was totally understandable as I don’t have the original purchase receipt (I bought it second hand, 3.5 years ago from a forum member).

They did offer me a code for 10% off a new one, but :

  • UK rrp = £122.95 ($161)
  • Currently on offer = £83.95 ($110)
  • -10% = £75.55 ($99)

And on prime day, I picked this brand up at £39.99 ($52) :

Smaller than the CarPlay2Air device, and in an anodised aluminium housing, it’s kind of like an apple watch, but with a wire sticking out of the side.

A GoPro VHB mount with a side chopped of to make a square fits perfectly :

I mounted it exactly as I had the CarPlay2Air mounted :

I can’t vouch for the android auto compatibility, but it works very well with CarPlay :sunglasses:

It’s very quick to boot up (sub 10 seconds), and I’m back to having zero sat nav lag when using waze and streaming music :like:

Here is the (U.K.) Amazon link :

Pulled the Supercharger (again) in order to time the car (again) and replace the oil pump, oil filter housing, and add a mechanical oil pump gauge. I've been chasing an intermittent low oil pressure situation so we are throwing parts at it as well as retiming the car because I have had a passenger side cam timing issue. This car is like a game of Whack-a-mole. Every time I fix one thing, two others seem to pop up.

So a little over 300 miles on the car since the work was completed. No intermittent low oil pressure, YAY!! But we now have a p0018 which is a drivers side cam correlation code...BOOOO!!
I don't know why. We literally tore everything off the front and re-timed the car as if it was a new short block installation, following the All-Data procedure. Car is running very well, but with that code, VVT and knock are not working correctly.

Replaced seat covers with NTO (New Take Off) seat covers, as the original covers showed age, and I damaged when trying to apply moist heat to them. [Learned that all the years of applying leather preservative prevented good and even heat/water distribution.]

New Seat Covers with iron-on applied to headrests.jpg

BTW...the running horse headrest logos were created/applied using wife's Cricut equipment.
