aluminum is harder to paint than steel and back when, humans did the work so thickness was all over the map and "excessive". Now with computer control they can put EXACTLY the number of microns of paint down to "cover" and not a droplet more. All to save themselves the obscene wasted cost of an extra coat. The savings of which they pocket and who gives a damn if the paint comes off if you sneeze on the panel after 3yr of ownership.Paint just doesnt seem to be as tough as it use to be.
