Not today, but on Wednesday, I cut the lawn and cleaned the leaves/pine needles on the small side of the front yard. (My driveway divides the small side and the large side front yard.) 2 days later, it looks like I didn't even pick up the pine needles. I had it looking good. Oh well,...it's just the beginning of the season anyways.
Tomorrow I am going to cut and clean the big side. That should be fun too. :giggle: LOL

Bought something fun for the deck tonight; should be delivered on Monday . Unlike our fridge that's been delayed yet another month.
A little late in the season, but better late than never:

One of the few remaining Orchids plants from my Grandfather is in flower on the deck at the moment.

IMG-1642.jpg

Orchids were his retirement hobby, he had hundreds of them, all divvied up amongst the family when he died. You would think I would have taken too them like he did, I guess I'm at a different stage of life to him, nor did he make a career out of growing plants like I have. I guess outside of work we tend to do other things to pass the time.

I've used my Webber in near freezing temps, This thing should be much easier to dial in and maintain temps. I fired it up last night for the first time. Took a bit of fiddling with the vents but once I got it right it stayed at 375ish for a good hour without needed to adjust anything at all.

Threw on a tri-tip, pre marinated from Costco, last night. Over cooked it but was still really good.

Cooked the same last light on a knockoff green egg, used the traeger pellets costco has as well For added flavor. Absolutely amazing flavor. The tri-tip roasts from Costco have become my favorite.

They are so good! Did some baked russets and a very healthy amount of broccoli to go along with.

I forgot to throw in some wood chunks before putting the grill in and the meat. A nice feature of the Webber was two little doors in the grill that lets you put things in after the fact.

I still want a solid pellet smoker. But there's only so much deck space. I have a vertical electric smoker I use for long time smoke sessions; like briskets and such. It works well enough but no smoke ring.

Another project wrapping up. Just a simple case for my new bow and arrows. Latches, handle, and should be done.

Threw this together over the weekend since I wanted something to hold and display my knives. Now I need more to fill it up.

Wife about to head home to hang with family in Florida while I stay here ruling the pets with an iron fist. Scoring some son in law points sending a pencil box for mother in law. Almost done. Pardon the tape holding the not yet dried glued box together lol. Also, the wood grain looks incredible!

That looks great!

I used to do a lot of woodwork as a hobby during my teens, to the point where I nearly became a cabinet maker. I still love the smell of freshly cut timber.
