I had some time to do a few "mods" or basic items to get it ready for my maiden voyage that will happen soon (once roads are clear and temps are above 50°)

ZL1 Add-ons mudflaps with the foam blocks too:

Front license plate bracket that is removable:

J&L oil separator (I bought this kind on the very, very small chance that I throw a Whipple on it at some point 😬):

Also, these are stock, but I just think they're so cool when I open my doors:

Coming up next when I have time, will be my Ford performance all black lug nuts, a Mobil-1 oil change, and front splitter protectors that go on the underside. I am also considering taking the headlights out for a DIY "blacking out" of the silver parts along with the orange reflector. I have a four post lift coming sometime in the next couple of weeks that will make everything much easier to work on 😎
What license plate bracket did you use?

Took my first official drive (ever in this car) today, since it was 45° and the roads were clear! I let it warm up for at least 10 miles, then gave it the beans! What a sound, even decently loud with sport exhaust closed, haha. Car rides and handles better than expected, though no chance for curvy roads yet.

Getting my state inspection at the moment, hate seeing them drive it on the lift, but convinced them no need to remove a wheel to inspect the brakes! Another 3-4 weeks and the roads should be even more clear of sand and stones and I can get it to my detailer for a paint correction and new ceramic coating. Then it should be warm enough for the Cup2's to to handle some back roads. 👍🏻

Didn't pass inspection because the emissions readiness was not all set; probably had a dead battery at some point before I got it. Is there a simple driving procedure to ensure I have it 100% ready to go before I try an inspection again?

They can fail you for having a dead battery "at some point"? Im sure that thing puts out tailpipe emissions the same way as long as its running....

They don't even check emissions here, just the electronic systems within the ECU that let them know if all of the o2 sensors and catalytic converters are present and functional.

Can you explain this? We don’t have inspections here. Bernalillo County has a puffer test, but “emissions readiness” is a new one for me.

Edit: Beauutiful R! I really miss my rapid red 350. Color is simply stunning.

If it is an OBD type emissions "inspection" like we have here in MD, it is possible that it detects whether the battery was recently disconnected in an effort to clear any codes before inspection. If the battery was dead or low and not enough miles were put on it following recharge, then maybe that is what is tripping it. Just connect it to a charger and then put some miles on the car before you take it in again.

The weather is just starting to get a little better so I uncovered the car and detailed spayed it anticipating getting it out. The street in front of my house is breaking up from the pot holes and there’s a 1000 little black pebbles out there. Just what I need to stick to the tires.
Turn the TV on and the weather forecast is for a little snow tonight. Hopefully there will be no need to salt the streets. Then I’ll be waiting for rain to get rid of the salt. This cycle is getting old! Enough of this CRAP!

You need to go through a couple drive cycles to let the obd2 system to confirm readiness of its emissions systems. Different drive cycles depending on the manufacturer but a couple drives on thr freeway and local roads usually does it.

Replaced the rear deck speakers today. I get not putting in a subwoofer, but using 1965 spec speakers isn't cool
