Headed down to Mid-Ohio Friday afternoon, for a HPDE. Cloudy, 65 degrees but dry.
Saturday was a different deal, 50 degrees, and rain. 3 Gt-350 were at the track along with a McLaren which had a novice driver registered on the car.
The man drove it on the track in the rain and had a “Butt Pucker” moment when the car spun out coming out of Carrousel.
In the grass and on the track, fortunately didn’t hit anything

Hi Ray, good to hear you had one dry day on the track! It's a crap shoot in May for sure. MVP had a track day at Road America over the weekend and temps were in the 30's to start the morning. I was at Autobahn Country Club in Joliet IL last year on the day after it had rained. Still some standing water on the track. Several guys had BP moments during the first couple of runs. It was my first time at the track so I was nervous anyway. First sessions were rough with some pesky Miata's passing me constantly, but things got better when it dried up. Best not to push these cars (especially a McLaren) in the rain.

Got out and finally got my E85 tune dialed in. Past couple drives getting some data logs. Got my final revision loaded tonight. Just insane how the car runs. The Sunoco is pretty impressive also. Not gonna get this out of a pump anywhere…

Glad to see that Sunoco in the pic. 34 years working for them in fuels dept. Thanks for supporting them.

Got her smog checked. Almost failed due to aging vacuum lines. Time to put all the goodies back on.

California...... Thats a tough way to go. At least it's only once a year.
Yup, Cali. First time i've had to smog it since i bought it in 2020.

Now i have to smog every other year. So hopefully one more time before we leave this corrupt state.

Honestly, it's been YEARS since i've taken a car in to get it smogged. I'm talking 25-30 years lol My wife always got tired of seeing the notices so she'd do it. Who am i to tell a woman how to live her life? I was surprised they don't even check tail pipe emissions anymore? wtf?

This is me when DMV sends the letter and my wife grabs the keys. lol
