Washed her up using my new Active 2.0 pressure washer setup with Cox Hose Reel and Mosmatic Gun and Wand setup. So much easier to begin the process and results were superior using the newer equipment.

Track Day at Black Hawk Farms Raceway in Beloit, IL. First time ever on this track with only Road America to compare it to. The track is 1.95 miles and portions feel like a miniature version of Road America. Unlike RA decisions need to be made quickly and turns come up fast and furious. The Shelby handled it all running primarily in 3rd and 4th gear.
Still trying to get used to the sound of the revs at 70+mph in 3rd gear and seeing my tach in the 5-6 range. Incredible.
After 5 - 20 minute sessions in 85+ degree heat I was exhausted.
On the ride home I kicked back, put her in 6th gear, turned on the A/C, some tunes and cruised home. What a car.
Including pictures below of a few of the other guys rides that I hung out with during the event.

Very nice Lorne, and I love the Bug patina on the front bumper.
You are utilizing that beauty just what it was made for. Good for you brother !

If you're "using" it for what it was made for, then aren't you using it, instead of utilizing it?

Are you running at the Northwoods Shelby Club event at Road America this weekend? Blackhawk barely lets you catch your breath!

Thanks I appreciate it. I was amazed at how those bugs cleaned off and the car was not harmed.. LOL...
The ceramic coating is worth every penny. I'm able to just enjoy and not fret over it...

Unfortunately no, The timing of the 4th of July weekend just did not permit me to participate this year.

My only other track experience has been a Road America and I have attended the NWSC events at RA before. Great group of guys.
I believe they have an event at Blackhawk in August that I am looking at attending.
I will be at one of the RA sponsored track days in August as well.
I like blackhawk because it really helped me sharpen and work on my basic skills of braking, turn in, apex, track out at a much slower speed and a lot more repetition. RA gives you a chance to think while your going down those big straights and winding curves, but the speed is so much greater.
I am 50 minutes from RA and about 2.5 hours from Blackhawk.

Hanging with the Middleton Mototsports crew. If this was on June 21st, we were right next to them just to the south.

Did the same thing to my Shelby as the day before. Nothing. Same as the month before. Nothing. And the month before that. It just sits in the garage. Collecting dust. What a waste of money.

Put the original taillights back in. Thankful to the previous owner for giving them to me.

looks good. I don't really care for the 2018+ refreshed taillights from the GT. I think they did too much change to the original 2015 design. Much cleaner look.

Yes, I remember you also Lorne. Your GT350 is a nice car also. Yes, it’s always fun at Blackhawk as the MM guys are definitely a friendly group. They have a wide varieties of cars they bring with them. We’re going to be back at Blackhawk on July 26th, the typical Wed. Blackhawk track day and the NWSC Blackhawk weekend Aug 19 and 20. Hope to see you there Lorne.
