Didn't pass inspection because the emissions readiness was not all set; probably had a dead battery at some point before I got it. Is there a simple driving procedure to ensure I have it 100% ready to go before I try an inspection again?
Had the same thing happen. Had pulled the battery negative, didnt think anything of it. Had to drive 50 miles, varying speed 40-60 mph. Painful driving that way. Helps if you have a scan tool (I used Forscan) to confirm readiness.

Pretty easy, but I ordered from Crutchfield and they included the adaptor ring and wiring harness adaptor. Still need to use FORscan to reset the EQ
How’s the sound? Noticeably better than stock? Light Speaker upgrade may be my next mod.

Slightly better, but from what I understand you have to mess with the EQ in FORscan to get the most out of it.

what type of speakers are these? Does the stock speaker screen still fit?
Focal RCX-165, and they sit under the deck mat so yeah.

Took my first official drive (ever in this car) today, since it was 45° and the roads were clear! I let it warm up for at least 10 miles, then gave it the beans! What a sound, even decently loud with sport exhaust closed, haha. Car rides and handles better than expected, though no chance for curvy roads yet.

Getting my state inspection at the moment, hate seeing them drive it on the lift, but convinced them no need to remove a wheel to inspect the brakes! Another 3-4 weeks and the roads should be even more clear of sand and stones and I can get it to my detailer for a paint correction and new ceramic coating. Then it should be warm enough for the Cup2's to to handle some back roads. 👍🏻

Finally got around to attempting a fix for the "buzzle/rattle" that has been coming from the front dash of the shelby. It's been driving me crazy ever since I've owned the car. Auto Fanatic, a you tuber from NY, had posted a fix for what I think is the source. There is an amp unit install on the firewall just to the left of the clutch pedal. The metal fins on the unit create a resonance with the mounting plate that simulates a dash rattle. I experienced the exact same patterns as described in the video... it would come and go during warm weather, but accentuate itself when the weather got colder. It was a major pain to get the unit out of that side area. I had to remove the dead pedal cover, lift back the carpeting, and unplug multiple modules underneath to give me enough room to remove the 3 screws and drop the unit down and out of the car.
Once out I applied dynamat on the amp unit underneath the mounting plate. I also applied dynamat to the mounting bracket holes where the bolts mount to the firewall.
As an added precaution, I applied a final layer to the outside surface of the mounting bracket (no pic).
I wish I would have taken more pics, but I was so intent on getting this done and dreaded having to crawl into that confined space after my major battle with the Xeneering auto blip module last year. Still gives me nightmares
All in all it was a pretty simple process, but time consuming.
Here are some pics as well as a link to Auto Fanatic's video on the subject. The module itself was different from the one in the video as he was working on a 2017 model.
Same concept though as the overall module is similar and mounted in the exact same place.
He also has a video on fixing a buzz/rattle in the shifter unit, but I am not sure if I will need to do that procedure. I am waiting for the weather to improve so I can get the car out and do some road testing.

Finally got around to addressing what I THOUGHT was a failed clutch slave cylinder. Turns out the flared fitting on the hard line came loose. The replacement received some red loctite and a little extra tightening oomph.

Oh, and some MGW love happened while it was apart.

Drove to my friend's house to check out his new C8 and give it a drive after completing my busywork of oil changes and seasonal tire swapping. And of course some pics of my own freshly-washed steed in the golden hour light.

what did you think of the C8, how did it compare to your shelby?

Not ktulu, but drove my buddies C8. Was a base without Z51. I was amazed at how well it launched from a dig. The weight over the rear really helps it stick with traction and the DCT is a joy. Was the first DCT i've driven, and I will say that car needs it. The way it rips gears, downshifts, how quick it is - I see why they went with it. I am a diehard manual fan, my last 11 cars have been sticks - but I will say I wouldn't mind having both. I took it to north georgia and ripped in the mountains - its faster all around than the 350 and feels lighter - even though I think they are similar. The speeds you can accomplish in manual mode are pretty amazing.

The sound department left a lot to be desired of course. Car was muted from drivers seat even with windows down. The motor doesn't rev high which is a shame. Z06 fixes that. The interior to me felt too small, and like I was sitting on top of the car, wasn't a fan of it and the base seats are meh. I think its a great car if you can buy one MSRP though w/ Z51.

He's still in break-in and temps were only in the 40s so we didn't get a full rip. But it felt great, and fast. Visibility was great out the front and I like the feeling of being close to the front axle. Very eager to change directions, so it feels like a smaller car. Interior is very busy, but comfortable. Driving my car right after on the same route, he thought my car was faster. I think that's just because I was able to get on it more. Oh, and of course, the Shelby sounds twice as good and has all three pedals.
