Painted the Brembos black with white lettering - just waiting on the wheels to be done at powdercoaters:

Yeah I read that I file might be needed to de bur it. It wasn’t a bur though it was the entire piece of the stamped steel in the way. There was no way I could get it out of there. I’ll see if I can find anything to get it out.

Are you referring to the Steeda G Brace?... if so, it fits... you just have to advance it into the chassis appropriately. And, it’s important for the function/protection of the part.

Shiftech but basically the same one. I know you are supposed to advance it into the chassis but there was no way I was getting it in there. A piece of steel or some videos call it slag was in the pay and nothing I did wild move it.

I had a few bumps of slag I removed with a file. They slid rite in after that.
If you don’t use the inserts the piece will compress under the tightening and will deform the unit.

Yeah i don’t think it’s slang. It feels like a circle from when they stamped that piece of the chassis. I’ll get in there and try and fix it.

Have you painted them while on the car? Or disassembled the whole thing?

Had I had the skills I do today, I would not have spent 2K for the R calipers. Now that I can do my own brakes, he most likely did the following

    1) Jack car / stands
    2) Remove the wheels
    3) Remove the brake calipers off the rotors
    4) Remove brake pads
    5) Remove Rotors
    6) Full access to mask / paint

Painted on the car - only removed the pad pins. I got a good set of small brushes and took my time. This paint is only temporary until I have the downtime to remove them for powdercoating.

If you are going to track it seriously, check the max temperatures powder-coating likes. I think its low-mid 400s. Since many people need 600 degree brake fluid I suspect the powder-coating could get cooked in extreme circumstances.

Good advice - I didn't think about that. I am going to do some Autocross if the events ever open back up but not sure about anything else right now.

Today I repurposed my old Roush trunk toolkit for the Shelby. I'm currently in the process of rebranding the entire toolkit to match the Shelby/GT350 logos. Probably more custom work thank anyone else would do, but hey its keeping me busy during COVID. 20200525_184109.jpg 20200525_184120.jpg 20200525_184546.jpg

Ceramic coated my front wheels so far; and discovered the unsightly rust on the rotors outer edges ; I wire brushed the edges, and wiped up with brake cleaner , then grabbed an old sock the And put my hand in it , sprayed the sock , I used VHT high temp silver and applied that over prior rusted areas and it looks close to new again . ( Of course I used a clean paper towel with carb cleaner to wipe down the flat exposed rotors after) 40F98599-4B12-41A5-841A-C706E9DD5531.jpeg 1581A65E-5F58-4284-8E4D-3C8B5FB36010.jpeg
