Loudz Creations in Adelaide specialises in this work. He also sells DD gear. (no affiliation) He travels AUS at different times of the year to do work depending on demand or you can send them to him. It is a job that requires a lot of skill and some special gear or you can damage the headlights and they would not be cheap to replace.

tangentially relevant to this thread, today was the first time I have launched mine ('19 manual) hard in sport plus from a slight rolling start. I had noticed a very significant difference in gear performance in sport plus from the usual quite relaxed behaviour of the car, but I hadnt tried going hard from launch before, even though I've had the car a year now. It isnt really something that I do very often in any car, I like handling aspects more.

I have to say that before today I was thinking that the stated time (0 - 100 in 4.7) was very optimistic, in normal mode it feels to me like a high 5's early 6's kind of car . But I can now see that sub 5 seconds is achievable, it was a chilly morning which helps of course but the car is surprisingly quick in sport plus, if I was of a mind to be a fool and race people from lights I'd fancy myself even against a lot of autos, particularly with first being so tall.

Anyway, now I will go back into snail mode from lights, but it is good to know it is there if you want it.

@BruceTheQuail you chicken if it's rolling even slightly it's not a launch :giggle:. Next time sir take a proper one for the team. :giggle:

The A10 is an awesome thing, IIRC Ford published a dragstrip time of sub 4s on semis which is getting quick.

haha, so true but I've become quite fond of my clutch and it's been nearly 20 years since I've hit a manual hard from a dead stop (used to have a manual volvo s60R - 0 - 100 in 5.5 which was mighty quick back in 2004, but you had to rev it very hard). I shall let someone else do that one. But no, I wouldnt fancy myself against the Mustang auto, the stats dont lie and generally speaking if they have the auto at 4.3 and the manual at 4.7, I'd have thought IRL most drivers would get 4.5ish in the auto but something over 5 in the manual.

My other car has the ZF 8 speed auto and is quicker still, but with that in the auto it is more about controlling wheelspin, there is plenty more to think about in the manual even if it isnt as quick. I was actually pretty chuffed with my changes, but it isnt as though Ford are looking to recruit me to drive one at Bathurst.

Returned from our 10 day road trip to Melbourne. Used the long weekend to travel via Tumut & Hanging Rock. Work week in Melbourne and return via Griffith & Hill End. Great workout for the recently installed H&R Coil-overs (with 20mm drop & new Michies) and pleased to report that the car is even a better GT car than before (well for 2 people). Amplitude control was noticeably improved on the Hay Plain in particular and cornering was firmer through the twisties.

Oh wow, very rare for someone to have owned a S60R, I always kinda liked them. We both have similar taste in cars it would seem.

Oh it was a fantastic car in its day - analine leather, brilliant manual (much quicker than the auto which had a torque limiter), 4 piston brembos all round, very fancy inside with a proper phone (sim in dash lol). Extremely fast on a highway, I drove that car at a top speed faster than anything I've had since and it was absolutely glued down, unfortunately it had a massive turning circle (over 13 metres) so there was no such thing as a U Turn and parking it was a PITA. Also it was very understeery.

I got that one after a c70T5 coupe, the older monaro shaped one, which was beautiful as well, but more of a cruiser, I was a bit of a volvo buff pre Jag. I still reckon the XE is the best handling car I've driven.

Did yours have the orange interior trim? Loved that look.

Agreed, Jaguar XE and F-Types are the best handling cars I have driven so far. The XE is so light on it's feet, very pointy in the front end. Frankly, I fear for Jags future, people just can't get beyond the reputation the once had.

Oh yeah the orange was nice, mine was silver with the dark blue leather. Paid $100K for it and got about $35K as a trade 2 years later when I bought my XF 4.2 but I'd fallen out of love with it over the turning circle which was a nightmare, and I'd driven the XF and had fallen in love with it.

Gooday, we are down under. The Mustangs are very popular here, no competition really and the only new v8 that you can buy in a manual other than a Toyota diesel 4 X 4.

we didnt get your beautiful GT350's here either
