shout out to #DFB5.0

I’ve never spent so-much time looking at and buying car products, but I'm enjoying it. Getting the 5ltr. versions on special and it definitely pays off. Very cathartic and well needed mind break from life.

Thank you.

P.S. Kermi is looking pretty good as a result

Great to hear! You have it looking superb!

I spent the better part of 6 hours on mine today, not once did I think about the troubles I have to deal with.

Get yourself an appropriate seat to eliminate crouching, it will really ramp up the cathartic vibes.

Oh, and welcome to the detailing product rabbit hole!

I’d love a seat with wheels, but my drive is cobbled ... :frown:

Installed the Steeda H pipe/resonator delete and to be fair, I don't like it...at all. Seriously thinking about putting the stock resonator back... Have active exhaust and normal is now louder than standard race. Sounds a bit raspy and and not what I was expecting.

I spent my day off today with the Mustang, a light polish and an application of Collinite 845 wax.

Washed first with NV Snow+ to help strip the remaining LSP.

Taped and ready for polishing.

Having used various spray coatings over the last couple of years, I wanted to go back to a wax for a change. There's just something special about the way a traditional wax looks not to mention the durability of 845. While I can see the appeal of a full-on Ceramic Coating, I love the regular nature of waxing or sealing a car.

All done, the pic doesn't do the result justice.

And the laundry aftermath......................

Order Steeda comfort package?
You have lost me there mate, what’s the steeda comfort package got to do with a detailing stool not rolling very well on my cobbled drive ... :like:

Here’s what it would have to contend with :

I currently drag a plastic step stool around with me and even then, I bolted a flat base on it so the legs don’t get trapped between the cobbles / sink into the tar :cwl:

Fit one to the stool and you'll be able to roll across that driveway like it's a billiard table :like:

Yep a roller seat is in my future. Got any links to preferences?

Mine is one of these -
https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/sca-sca-adjustable-roller-seat/298189.html
It does the job and the height adjustment comes in handy.

These two look interesting though -

https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/toolpro-toolpro-roller-seat-and-drawers---red/420797.html

I would love one of these. The local Adam's distributor asks stupid money for them though, $229.99 when they retail for $85 in the US.

Thanks. The Kinchrome one wins for me. I have a few of their other rolling boxes.

Yours look amazing. What ceramic coating did you end up going with. I'm thinking of getting this

https://detailingshed.com.au/products/gtechniq-c5-wheel-armour?_pos=1&_sid=82b67c4e8&_ss=r

But apparently ill need 1 30ml bottle to cover 1 entire wheel, nearly $400 to do all 4!
That doesn't sound right and the description from both GTechniq and Detailing Shed is poorly worded.

I would more inclined to think a 30ml bottle will cover at least 4 wheels. Perhaps an email to Detailing shed to confirm, they offer exception customer service.

Alternatively, CarPro DLUX is a similar product offering similar protection of 2 years. A 30ml bottle of this will be enough for 4 wheels + trim.

The caps might be exclusive (as you would expect) but the rims are the Project 6G rims from the US Project 6gr. American Speed in Melbourne import them directly. They are 50% lighter than the stock rims (there is a guy in the American section who took his car over a weigh bridge to prove it). I have the seven spoke version (built to mimic the 350R) and they are stupidly beautiful in gloss black.
Sorry but you are wrong about the wheels. They are not Project 6gr even though they look similar.

The idea of perhaps filming certain detailing tasks has crossed my mind in the past.

Believe it or not, I'm a incredibly self conscious and shy person, the main reason I haven't pursued the idea further.

Maybe one day when I can figure out a format that would mean people won't be viewing me, just the actual task at hand.
