I've just had my front wheel bearings & hubs replaced at 107k km. Initally, I felt it as a grinding under braking front driver side but while it was being diagnosed & waiting for parts, it manifested itself once as a bounce/thumping at highway speed, after an hour or so of running. My mechanic could believe the condition, when he took the old ones off.

Took mine to the dealer today to replace the dashcam. Get a call this arvo saying there has been a bit of an issue. They have to replace the tint on the rear windscreen. So they are keeping it overnight to re-tint tomorrow. I told them it better be at the 20% of the original tint.

This car feels cursed.

“A bit of an issue “ are not words that you want to hear from your Ford service people.

Just hope the 20% hot pink tint they use doesn't clash with your other tint.

Yeah I must admit when he said that my heart sank. But was happy it was just the tint. It just better be the right one at 20%. It will be the third time they have tinted the rear screen.

More than likely going back to the same place each time so getting the exact same tint should be no issue , hope it turns out that way .

What was the issue with the dash cam and what brand/model was it ?

Well it’s done by the dealer. And they stuffed it the first time. Hah. So that’s the 3rd time they have tinted the rear window.

as for the dash cam. It’s a Ford one. A DTF-922. No idea of actual brand. It does front and rear and mine is also meant to have the park Mode so it does time lapse when the car is off. The issue was I couldn’t activate park mode and the video of the front camera was glitchy and stutters. So they just replaced the whole unit. I haven’t tested parkmode yet. I only got it as it was dirt cheap as part of them trying to keep me happy due to the delays and damage the car got prior to delivery.

I doubt tint is done inhouse at dealer tbh , they job it all out normally . Same with dashcam , the rear tint might be redone as some numpty scratched it fiddling with rear cam , nothing to do with tint fault in all probability , this is why you dont get dealer done things that are externally sourced , cut out middleman in cost and getting shit rectified , take it straight to tint or cam place and pick up same day . Lesson for next time , it sucks you are having a bad experience , hope it all smooths out soon . Did you get your paint repaired ? What dealer are you going through if you dont mind ? I want to make sure i never go near them , they pretty well f##ed up everything that could be f##ed up and i certainly wouldnt be getting my car serviced there fwiw ,,

Tint definitely done by an outside guy. The issue was removing the rear camera peeled the tint off in that spot so had to replace the whole thing.
Paint is still not fixed yet. Still waiting. Will be following up with my sales guy I think.
As for dealer name, they have actually be good. The initial issues were all outside of their control and have done everything to fix it and reacted as quickly as possible to do so.
if anything else goes wrong I’ll be starting to lose my shit tho.

I dont actually see the dealer as being so innocent in this tbh , they are effectively the " project manager " for all these external experts doing jobs and everyone single one seems to have failed at some point . Now this could be put down to extreme bad luck but given the repetitive nature here i'd say they get work outsourced by price not quality . Pay peanuts get monkeys type scenario , likely no qualified tradesman is servicing your car either . Just putting it out there . Hope i am wrong and don't put you of , if your happy thats all that matters

Finally fitted my Steda subframe alignment kit and subframe bushing support kit. Pretty much took me all day but got there. The bushing alignment definitely made a visual difference as you could tell it was out when I put my wider new mags on as the tyres poked out a little more on one side. I think the bushing also made a difference. The car is more stable but I also have new rubber so who knows. At the end of the day I had to undo the subframe so thought why not do the bushing as well. I also have the Steda Diff bushings but didn't fit it this time.

Well done, rest assured the mods made a difference. The stock rear on mine was horrible until I did the same plus RLCA bearings (changed to poly now) and Steeda shock mounts and that was on Pirellis. I like the way it tracks now. Rear dampers alone can also provide some good benefit if you haven't done them already. Enjoy!

Wait. UK got ventless hoods on GTs? I tried to find an Eco owner to swap hoods on my US '16 but no takers. Later decided to keep when realized the turn signal indicators in the vents were a plus for dash cam footage in case of an accident.
