Just curious as to what brand oil everyone is running? Has anyone changed the weight of their oil? Due for an oil change in the next month and checking to see what experience people have had.

I'm using Motorcraft 5w-20, and I've never had a problem using this oil on my cars and trucks. I have an '07 F150 that I bought new and now it has 188XXX miles on it with ZERO issues, still on the stock cam phaser and no ticking. Just did my 4th oil change on my 5.0 and it purrs like a kitten. Yes the aftermarket might have better oils out there but for my style of driving, I don't think I have a need to use them right now. Stock oil and filter for now, might look into better oils later when I go forced induction. But then again, the GT500's are recommended the same oil don't they?

An old girlfriend once told me she was into two polls. I told her I was onboard, as long as the other one took batteries.

But seriously. I have used two brands of oil so now I can indicate as such using each poll.

No, that engine takes 5w50 which is vastly different than even the same MC 5w20.

I personally use Amsoil because I drive the car hard on track days and the oil gets HOT so I wanted the extra protection. For a daily driver that only sees commuting there's nothing wrong with any major brand oil out there but I wouldn't trust a stock oil 5w20 at 290* and WOT for 20 minutes.

What weight are you using for the track? I was thinking of using Amosoil on this car and will be doing track days fairly regularly.

I went with their 0w40 SS. Seems to be the consensus weight by the road course guys.

Castrol Edge 5w-30 full synthetic. I use it because oil is oil, it was on sale, and it meets Honda's strict turbo requirements.

Mobile One and FP filters. I also keep a 5k change interval.

First oil change for me. I used Royal Purple 5w20. It was the only oil on sale. Never used it before. Was always a Mobil1 synthetic type but lately I keep hearing there formula has changed and it's not as good.

ugh you guys really make me cringe. You need to test these oils in these engines to verify your statements. Different oils react differently in different uses and different compositions. I highly doubt any of those oils stack up to some of the oils I normally recommend.

A 40 weight? holy s---, that is wayyyyyyy too thick for this engine. Stay away. a 30 weight for racing will do just fine.
