So, reaching out to see how you all deal with reducing the likelihood of someone messing with your Mustang when you are out and about.
Can't do much. At least she left a flower haha.

Its a lack of respect for other people's things, and common decency that is totally lacking today in our society. As for what I do, I don't drive my car anywhere unless I will be with it the whole time as a rule. Car shows, yes I stay with it, cause the affore mentioned lack of respect can happen even at a car show. I have had to shoo people away from my car more than once...

I have full PPF, Front and Rear Motion activated cams. The PPF has saved the paint multiple times judging by what looks like key scuffs and other abrasions that easily come out with heat / and or polish.

Also have a parking permit that allows me to park in reserved spots that have no cars around or extra large - cant say more:)

Still get the haters and its just an ecoboost! Usually have 3-5 dents every year with PDR guys thankfully Mustang has great access so takes them no time.

I always park away from othrr cars snd never park next to a truck. Im fortunate too my gt is 3rd car so i only have 8000 miles on my 2019 so I steer clear of parking lots fir the most part

I'm considering to PPF a good portion of my car after I fix some miscellaneous stuff. My city is wild and you need prayers to avoid damage. In rush hour there's always motorcycles cutting between the cars, in 30 minutes probably 200+ motorcycles will pass you. I have a 12" long dent on my quarter panel like something dragged along it. No scratch. I suppose it's a handlebar that had a rubber grip on it. Scumbags.

I have aborted shopping trips if I don’t have enough space available between the stang and nearest car 🤣 too many people out there that don’t respect nice cars.

Thank you all for your responses. Especially the humorous ones. One thing that I'm getting is not leaving one's car out of one's sight. Drive it, enjoy it, but don't leave it. I have cameras but they only help after the fact if it does capture the act. But then trying to identify someone after they are gone is next to impossible.

I do have a truck I can strictly daily so it looks like I'm going that way going forward. I just don't want to take a chance anymore. And I agree that people don't respect other people's stuff anymore nor do they seem to care if they get caught messing with a car. It's like they're pissed that they don't own nice things (in this case a car) so they take it out on the hard-working folks who do.

I took my car to the dealer for some warranty work and they offered to "glove wash it".
When the kid who did the washing brought it out, he said, "We didn't get all the bugs off because we were afraid we'd scratch it if we rubbed it too hard."
When I got home I noticed the hood decal had scratches all over it, like they tried rubbing back and forth to get a stubborn spot. I think what he meant was, "...afraid we'd scratch it more than we already did..."

Oof. That hurts. What I do for each dealership service visit is detail my car the day before. Not like wax etc. but give it a bath and make it shiny. That way I and the advisor both know its flawless, very well maintained, and as a responsible owner I will know if they mess it up.
