I really can’t decide if I like them or not. What are everyone’s thoughts on the OEM stripes?

Vague answer, but depends on color combination to me on the S550....
I liked the factory stripes a lot better on the '05-'14 body style.
Seen some S550's with stripes that I like...

I really don't like that they don't go to the edges, but leave half of an inch space. It looks really cheap based on the color when you see the bodycolor on all gaps (like bumper-hood).

For the money you can get way better custom decals installed

I'd never get freaking vinyl decals on any car, but that's just me. And painted ones is a permanent commitment, so unless you absolutely love them, I wouldn't get them either. But for people that might like to change the look of his/her car every once in a while, guess vinyl decals are the way to go. But as stated, you can get them elsewhere at a more decent price than what Ford charges.

I really liked the OTT ones they had a few years back ('16-'17?) that had the fade to the front and rear of the car. If they had offered them in '15 I probably would have sprung for them.

This. The gaps really are a head shaker. Mine had to come with factory stripes and I do like them so I'm not removing them, but the gaps really are the worst part. If you're going to add stripes then get aftermarket.

I got mine with factory stripes, but I wouldn't order them again. Aftermarket is cheaper and better, and a lot more customizable options.

Mine came with the strips as well and had 1/4 inch gaps and bubbles took to the dealership to fix they sent me to their body shop that would redo them for 1800 that shop sent me to a guy in town that did the whole car for 525 with some of my own love mixed in.
