My turn for the totaled or not totaled game…. Traveling on I-516 headed into Savannah, I checked to see if I was clear for a lane change and somehow missed seeing the huge, red Dodge Ram. It was like a reverse pit maneuver. Suddenly I’m waving at the other driver through my driver window like, “Oh! Hiiiiiii!”
Nobody was hurt. He was able to drive away with some paint transfer.

What do y’all think? GEICO will be looking at it in the next couple of days. I popped the hood. Everything is intact under the hood, nothing displaced. Nothing rubbing. Suspension looked good. I was able to drive it off the roadway to the shoulder and the tow truck driver was able to back it onto the flatbed.

Oh yeah, no airbag deployment.

The fact that the door shell is done and the rear 1/4 too damage - and all the front parts, it's gonna come really close to a total out....

Usually a rear 1/4 replacement alone on these S550's is a $7.5k-$10k job depending on who does it....

I would think that when the 2024's hit the lots any left over 2023's will have some good incentives.

My guess is you're right on the edge. I'm guessing the tipping point will be if the front frame rails are tweaked.
If they opt to repair it be sure they replace the VIN and tire/load stickers under the latch on the rear quarter.

Yeah, pretty sure she’s done unfortunately. Not sure if you have access to it, but it’s my understanding once insurance looks at it and if they total it, you won’t be able to access it. So if there’s any aftermarket stuff you want and can take, you may want to consider that.
