So lately I've noticed when i pull out of my garage, during the first roll of going in reverse I hear a noise that sounds exactly like 2 ceramic plates hitting each other. This noise is definitely in front of the seat area and i believe it is under the car. Just minutes ago i heard it when going from 2nd to 1st while pulling into the garage and tested it out by going to reverse, backing up a few inches, pulling forward and few inches and did this about 5 times. I heard the noise every single time. Just curious if everyone is experiencing this or not?

Note: I always have my windows down, if they were up I'm sure I would never hear it.

I think this is the brake pads/caliper shifting. Happens in my F150 and my fusion as well. I actually don't know if that's what the sound is but it never bothered me.

It's just a little slack in the drivetrain. Lots of manuals do that including my 2011 gt TP

I've never read so many complaints about small noises in a car before.

I agree. I think it's a lot of new owners that have never had a V8 before. Especially one with 4 cams and 32 valves. That symphony of noise is magical :ford:

This version mustang pulled a lot of people in that haven't had these cars before. They aren't used to the sounds that come standard with big trans and big motors or budget sports cars.. I have two friends that got a 2015 gt and a 2013 camaro SS in the last year and they both always think something is wrong or broken. Its just the nature of the beast. You want quite motor/trans and no rattles go get a Porsche...that's what I tell em.

I was hoping someone would say it was the sound of two giant balls slapping against each other (so I wouldn't have to). :p

I had the pleasure of cruising around San Diego in beautiful weather today, listening to music, lost in thought. It would put anyone in a goofy mood.
