I have the FP PP2 on my GT. I accidentally tore the airbox weatherstrip foam piece in half. Dumb@ss that I am. :curse: You know, that large foam "sheet" that is removable? I need to buy a new one but it doesn't seem to be sold separately, unless I'm missing something. I literally duct-taped the original back together. Time will tell if it will hold, but I'd rather not have duct tape in my airbox. :like:

Here's the airbox parts diagram for a 2017 GT350. https://www.tascaparts.com/auto-par...5-2l-v8-gas-engine/engine-cat/air-intake-scat

Doesn't show that foam piece. Does anyone know if it's sold separately? Thanks.

I’m in the same boat. My gt350 is second hand and I didn’t get the foam bit. I figure making your own is the only solution:(

That piece really does make a difference in your IATs. I didn't think it would, but my seat of the pants testing with the piece entirely removed showed otherwise. These numbers are typical:

Foam piece in:
Steady driving, 55mph or faster, IAT is 8-10 degrees above ambient
Idling: IAT is 20-30 degrees above ambient

No foam piece:
Steady driving 20+ above ambient
Idling: 50 plus above ambient!!

So far my duct tape fix is holding and with the air filter in place, I'm not worried about anything getting sucked into the intake, but still, don't want a piece of tape wrapped around the filer blocking air either. I'll just have to keep an eye on it until I can find a replacement...if that's even possible. Even if I find a junked GT350, they will want to sell the airbox complete.

have you walked into a Ford dealer's parts department and asked if they can order it? I know - crazy idea, but worth a try.

make your own. Lowes, Home Depot, Amazon sell foam weather-stripping.

Not yet, but I checked the parts diagram (see the OP) and it's not even shown...which is weird. We'll see how my duct tape repair holds up. You can't see my "repair" unless you look down into the airbox....but I know it's there.

I torn that piece when installing the PP2 on my '15 GT. I used some wetsuit glue to repair the tear and also contacted FP regarding the part. Indeed, it is not sold separately, but FP sent me a new one free of charge. Just needed to email them a copy of my PP2 invoice.

The person at FP I spoke with was Mr. Steve Horn (800)-367-3788.
His email is: [email protected]

The part was back ordered and took a few weeks to arrive. I offered to pay for the part and shipping, but FP declined that request. YMMV.

Hmm. That was interesting. I did an online chat w/someone from FP (not Steve horn) and this is what I got: The part number is FR3Z-9601-C. Doesn't show up on Tascaparts.com and Google thinks you're looking for "B" which is the GT350 airfilter.

Hi BMacIL. The foam insert for the right side of the GT350 airbox. It closes up the box. Googling it returns nothing about it. Just lots of pics of the airbox itself.

Ah I see it. I have that but didn't install. I think I will now...
