So im limted to only low 9s? Why? Look at the vortech jt-b. Look at the paxton novi 2200sl, 8s was done on a s197 coyote on that blower. Jpc did 9s on it too. Beef ran mid 9s on the jt-b on a 4000lb car. he has tons of off the shelf parts on that car. Hell look at that procharger slip up a few posts. Thats an off the shelf kit. Its also a s197 coyote. How many 8-9 second cars have you built? Because so far with your statements it looks like none. Maybe drag racing isnt your thing.

Jpc has a single turbo kit they sell that they ran 8s and 9s on for the s197. Its only harder right now on the s550 because its a new chassis.

It comes down three things mainly. Most people just dont know how to piece together a well running setup. Its not anything anyone should feel bad about. Its just lack of experience. Most people aren't very good drag racers either. It just takes practice and experience. You cant have one without the other. Da matters a lot too. Its a variable most people dont take into account.

Not a single one of these is built without adding many additional parts that aren't included in the kit.

So now you're putting stipulations on it. yeah youve clearly never built single digit cars. Define many? You cant move out like that without a smidge of suspension work. You need radials at the minimum to break 9s. You think you can do that on summers? You expect to slap on a kit and bam, 9s? it takes minimal mods to run 9s. Its not some elaborate race car build like watsons. That one i linked you too is a very fine example. Not much done. No one expects 9s with just the charger or turbo alone. If they do thats just stupidity.

But that is exactly what you criticized Watson for. The FI was only done because they could not tune the factory ECU. The front entry Whipple is right over the counter. The suspension is no different than the fixed stuff from BMR except slightly lighter. Anybody with a scraper can make their car lighter like Watson did. I don't know why you would poopoo Watson or argue that getting in the 9s doesn't cost a lot of money. Have you ever priced the fuel system needed for that?

We should all just be happy these vendors are working so hard to make these cars fly. It take some significant R&D to make this happen, not to mention a ton of money.

First and foremost congratulations to Watson!! You were moving out!!! And thanks to Beefcake, BAMA, BoostWorks, and many others I'm leaving out. Keep doing what you do and most of us understand the race to be number 1.

Find for me where i criticized them. I didnt crap on them. Someone else did. I do know using the older inferior termi irs that you dont have to change all of the s550s irs out to run low 9s. I know you dont need standalone ton run low 9s either. Im not sure why they changed both of those things. costing a lot to get to 9s is subjective. A reliable 9 second car is entirely different and that is expensive. Beefcakes kits comes with fuel systems. I believe other peoples kits do too. Why wouldnt i know how much fuel systems cost? Ive built two 8 second cars and 2 9 second cars. To get to 9s on a stock motor doesnt cost a lot.
