Was just about to install my CF rims for upcoming track day.. hole found

I am not sure how I missed this, but it seems like one of my front tires has developed a rash...or better said a hole... see the picture. I am concerned tracking this tire anymore... I would need at minimum 2 fronts, not?

Thanks for any advice. I am so pissed now, not sure I have enough time to deliver 2 tires from tirerack, I have a track day on Thursday...

My general rule of thumb is as soon as that center part starts to peel/chunk, it’s time for a new tire

I ordered new tires this morning, if they don't make it in time to the installer I will track with my all seasons! It's gonna be interesting

Trying to track with that tire will cost you more than the new set coming.

Can always try the dealer; they may be able to get a tire fast (for more $$$). Good luck salvaging the track time! Maybe it'll rain so all-seasons are the right call ;-)

YES! That's what I just did. I dedicated my CF wheels for track with OEM tires.. problem is I did not inspect the tires properly coming out of winter, so I didn't notice the hole. My all seasons are the street/daily tires on Signature SV501's... I just realized how bad the "daily" sounds... I have about 150 miles on her since October 2020, that's how much I drive daily

Oh well. I have them shipped today from Tirerack, and if it makes it by tomorrow PM to the installer, game is on, they will be installed on Wed.

i think he means the one that's got the hole and is corded ish... like hit a wall when it fails cost him....

the all seasons will just be slower, but still fun of respected haha

I had a small chunk like that show up on a shoulder and then literally unzip around the entire tire. Caught it between sessions but it was no bueno and could have ruined my day.
