Yes, I tried to take note of all the differences. Of interest as well were the clear tail lights. I think that was a nice look. I dont know what to make of the red stripe on the wheels though..... some kind of curb rash protection?Nice find in the UK @Tomster!
I will say though, those Euro door mirrors are just atrocious… way too big.
Thanks Paul. Yes, its always good to be back in the UK. Ill keep a sharp eye for more mustangs throughout my travels.I hope you're enjoying your stay, Tomster!
Since 2015, there have been just over 10,000 S550s sold in the UK and 85% of them are V8s, so they are rare, but obviously not as rare as the models that came before it, as they had to be imported personally.
You are correct in the that the "redline" is a wheel rim protector.
Not as atrocious as that stupid warning, "the objects in the mirror are closer than they appear", which plagues the US mirrors. At least the extra mirror surface we're getting in Europe is useful, which can't be said about that awfully patronizing notice that keeps reminding you every day what a mouth-breathing simpleton Ford thinks you are.I will say though, those Euro door mirrors are just atrocious… way too big.
I have a FP non-badged finish panel that I planned to use for another project. Let me know if you are interested. I believe my friends from the UK will be visiting us soon enough and maybe they can bring it back with them if/when they visit. I think the gates open on Nov 8th?Yes, as Twin Turbo says they are quite rare - actually driving on the road I might get see one other car a week. Within my home and work areas I know where five park up either at homes or at places of work (although I think one has either sold up or moved jobs recently).
Exterior wise they are similar, other than the lights and mirrors already noted and the non illuminated orange rear side marker - also the ugly rear GT badge, but you guys get the same style on some special editions.
Inside other than the obvious, we are without the PP1 gauges (but we are mostly PP1 spec).
You probably realise just how big these cars are for the U.K. now - that one’s filling a disabled slot and it’s arse is hanging out of the rear lol.
Enjoy the U.K. !

That’s a great offer thanks ! But I have a new old stock FP panel (the completely flat one) that I’ve just not go around to fitting yet …I have a FP non-badged finish panel that I planned to use for another project. Anyway, seeing that car yesterday was definitely a highlight of the day.
I was there on Saturday. I must have just missed it.There was actually a meet at Kemble airfield (yes, the little 'ol Cotswolds has an airfield!) so you weren't far from about 15 other Mustangs on Saturday
As Paul said, they're rim protectors. RimSavers / AlloyGators are the big companies that make them. I wish I'd sprung for them, and had a set of them installed a couple weeks ago...Yes, I tried to take note of all the differences. Of interest as well were the clear tail lights.
