Hi everyone, looking for some input from vinyl installers/DIYers or anyone in a similar situation to me. I've just gotten my Steeda Q-Series spoiler painted and soon I would like racing stripes installed on the car. Would it create that much on an inconvenience for the guys installing the stripes for me to put the spoiler on beforehand or should I leave it off? I was going to get the AmericanMuscle GT500 stripe kit (well two of them to ensure I have enough material for my other custom aesthetic additions) if that makes any difference. Thanks for your help!

I agree BUT since the Steeda Q is no drill and tapes/"glues" on you may want to ask Steeda.

Adhering it to the vinyl rather than the car body may be bad for it staying on (ie may have to cut the stripes at the front of the spoiler and not go under it.

To be clear, the spoiler is matched to the body (DIB) and I want the stripes to run over the spoiler. Either way I'd ask the shop to leave the section of trunk under the spoiler without vinyl because of those adhesion concerns.

I guess my question is: is it really that much more of a pain in the butt to apply the stripes to the spoiler already (permanently) stuck on the car?

Probably not since those areas are applied in sections (not one continuous piece of vinyl from the front of the trunk to the top of the decklid).

Just....if it's a pre-cut stripe kit, make sure you ask them if it'll fit the spoiler you're getting since those things tend to be cut to spec and it might not fit.

Since the American Muscle Graphics kit is pre-cut, I figured I could just get two packs, use whatever pieces are most appropriate on the spoiler and trim them as well as my CDC Outlaw chin. Is that not such a great idea compared to specific measurements via BigWorm (maybe?) or giving the installers a long roll of 10" wide gloss black vinyl?

I'd shoot AM an e-mail and see what they say. They might ask for the specs of the spoiler or how much material you might need. I'm not sure of the spoiler but they might need to have it cut specifically for any curves or it might go on funny. Always good to be sure. Guy who did mine had stock specs to send to Avery to get things cut and sent so it went on straight.

Best to check though. 2 packs might be a waste. If it's a standard straight gloss black then you can probably order it separately and make sure they can cut it out (prefer laser-cutting if you can).
