Perversely these drive-by tests are probably ADDing to the infection vector instead of reducing it.

The medical industry is by it's very nature parasitic. Don't get me wrong, it's a VERY USEFUL parasite in that it fixes problems with the people who actually produce so they can get back to work, and also can be a force-multiplier by raising the general state of health and thus broad-spectrum productivity.
