Well, the delivery due date came and went (May 3rd). Vicrez is using a company called Pilot which is a Freight forwarding company? Has anyone dealt with them before?

Anyways, very nice people. I called them, got customer support right away and was told "We're not sure where it is actually. The last we can see it was in Seattle? Let me call the local freight company and see". A few minutes later "They don't see it on their scans so it may have crossed the border".

With a $500.00 USD shipping fee + a $199.00 large item handling fee, one would think that I would be paying for super-accurate tracking services as well. If Steeda USA can ship 4 rims to me for $300.00 (and each rim weighed 24lbs in individual boxes) I would think a 58lb hood would be no big deal. We do live in a world where Amazon can ship you a couch to your door in 3 days!

I've reached out to Vicrez to see what the next steps are. They seem super responsive and eager to please so let's cross our fingers that I just didn't get on the slow boat from china you know?

Todays Update -

Pilot found the package; It was in Vancouver waiting to clear customs. They will update their tracking once it clears customs but at least, according to them, it is in Canada. Yay. Hope it is in one piece.... well... two pieces... but you know what I mean.

Vicrez also reached out to me and they are looking into the matter from their side as well! She gave me a quote that FedEx would have charged them like $1380 to ship the hood? W.... T.... F? FedEx could send ME to Tulsa for that price LOL

I did get a piece of good news. My GT500 spoiler is sitting at Steeda.ca waiting for me to pick up this Saturday so it will be here well before the hood meaning I can have both installed same day.

Guess what? Stiiiiiiiiiiiiiiill waiting. The freight company apparently said there was an issue because there was no UNIT # on the address so I checked my original order with Vicrez and yep, sure enough, there was a UNIT NUMBER on the SHIP TO address. They said to call them back by Friday to see where it's at. The last update was it's been in Vancouver for about a week and a half.

It's been about 3.5 weeks in transit. For which I paid $500.00 USD Shipping + $199.00 USD Large Item. Not overly concerned about the money but if you are paying top dollar one would expect to have their product by now.

Did any of you guys order a GT500 hood liner for yours? I've been reading that the hood liner on the normal GT hood acts as a seal for any CAI guys that want to go FBO and a tune. Thoughts?

It's never a good thing when the body shop writes you to say

I just received your hood moments ago. The box is in very bad shape. I can open it to inspect the hood or if you want to come down and you can open it with me
After a month in transit (3.5 weeks) I'm totally sad face.

So we will see how the pictures come in and find out what, if anything is missing, then start the claims process. Price of the hood, $500 shipping fee, $199.00 large item handling fee + duty. About $6.2 million for pain and suffering!!! 🤣 🤣 🤣

May end up having to go to the Bodyshop at lunch hour tomorrow to do a quick look see.

So, feedback time!!!

What would you guys do? I've reached out to Vicrez even before I got these photos to ask what the process was in the event that I had to begin warranty/claims/return/whatever but then this afternoon I got the photos and the message from the Bodyshop foreman.

Attached are pictures of the hood box as it showed up, and the condition of the hood after I took it out of the package.

There are a number of small dents, rough sander marks all over the inside/outside of the hood. Roughly 10+ dents total.

Let me know if you’d like to come by and check it out.

These dents can be fixed obviously, but I know that you’ve paid for a new perfect hood. So let me know how you’d like to proceed.
NOTE sorry for the wall of images. Some of these I can remove.

From what I can see in the pictures I think I would have the body shop fix the all the bad spots a be done with it mine had a couple of bad spots and it’s hard to see them with a wrapping

Vicrez Customer Care is escalating to a specialist to see what the next steps are. In the mean time the body shop is going to put together a quote on repairs (not paint or install, that's on me). So that's good news.

Chances are they aren't going to want the hood back cause shipping alone would eat their margin + more. I would imagine they would rather pay the body shop to repair and get it done.

We will see!

The bodyshop quoted like 1100.00 CDN ($900+ USD) to fix the hood. That doesn't include paint or install LOL. I sent that to Vicrez. Wonder if they will pay it or just tell me to destroy the hood and refund the money.

They did state they were opening a claim with Pilot so I imagine they will get the value of the hood from Pilot and hopefully pay for the bodyshop to fix it.

The Foreman at the shop said (paraphrasing) "If a company pays it off in this situation they absolve themselves of any quality issues going forward so we're going to bill them to make the hood perfect before we put it on your car because WE will be responsible for any warranty or quality issues going forward".

I love a business that will be willing to stand behind its product even if it costs a few bucks.

I expected way worse. Not as bad as expected. I’d blame the shipper. My box was in great shape and internal packing was great n did its job. Like I said. I had two tiny high spots on mine. Mine was $900 to have painted and I even bought the paint, primer and clear before hand. So $1100 is good. Most fiberglass hoods need way more work.

Totally, this isn't Vicrez fault. Maybe the rough sanding areas on the hood but that is something the body shop would have smoothed out prior to painting anyways. That being said, I am THEIR customer and not PILOT'S' so it's on them to make it right.

Not sure if my wires got crossed. It's $1100.00 to FIX the hood and then another $1000 (from me) to paint and install it (all materials and costs included).

Regardless, they(Vicrez) have the quote so we'll see what route they decide to go. They did seem receptive so at least that is a start!

Damn. That’s crazy. I thought $1100 for both. I wouldn’t even worry about the underside, just scuff n paint to match. N focus on the top side. I didn’t even care about the bottom of mine. As long as it was color matched under and perfect on top. Lol

That is exactly what I will tell them once Vicrez decides what they are going to do. I even plan on leaving the car at the bodyshop for a few days while they paint it so they can get the colour matching PERFECT.
