I recently heard this horrific noise from my engine bay. I removed the belt to the Procharger so I could try and pin point it.
It sounded like the ac compressor so I removed the belt to the compressor but the noise is still present. It doesn’t matter if the ac is on or off.

Has anyone heard this before?

I would guess a primary chain tensioner issue

I was going too take it to get headers and opg,cs installed in about 2 months if/when the Kooks show up. I guess I’m taking it sooner than I thought lol

I've had alternators make a similar sound when the bushing wears out. Also have had the alternator fan bolt come loose and it sounds like your noise also.

I would remove all belts and start it. If it goes away then you narrowed it down to the belt drive system. if it’s still there then it is in the timing system

I would def look at those things first before pulling the front cover off

I pulled the serpentine belt off and the noise is still there. Any ideas on what I should order.

Is it stage 2? I had the same noise and it was one of the stage 2 pulleys cam lock bolts that broke off and was rattling around between the balancer and timing cover.

There you go!! Glad my memory hasn’t failed me. Hopefully it’s that and the OP don’t have to dig in too far.

Yep. That was me. All one needs to do is pull the blower pulley(crank pulley) off and you should be able to fish out the piece of broken bolt If that is indeed what the problem is. I would also like to encourage the op to look into the crank support. It’s well worth it inmo
