Cant see them retrospectively increasing VED by the amount being mentioned, it serves no purpose whatsoever. Revenue wise it would be a drop in the ocean too. New cars maybe as an encouragement not to buy some Greta Thunberg destroyer.

Im confused with VED being stated as £598 a year? Though it was £145 + £320 for 5 years as over £40k which is £465 a year VED.

argh I see that’s pre 2017 VED rates just 2016 GTs.

2017/18 GT’s under £40k got a very good deal out of the VED rate change, no need to gloat and to be honest no one will see any new big engines performance car slip into such a low band again, was a very brief window. £320-£455 a year extra isn’t and didn’t stop me buying one.

After trying a few times with no luck, i ran in to waitrose mid morning yesterday - bare shelves in the toilet paper aisle, wait...one left! In the basket it goes, felt like i’d won something.
Mildly aware i could be mugged at any point, even in waitrose lol
