Hey Everyone, I am new to the forum but, but I have have been pretty much set on getting 2015 Mustang GT this Spring... until I came across a used 2012 Boss 302 with only 5K miles at a local dealer. Now I am torn between which one to pick: the Boss feels way more raw but "special" while a new GT is awesome and would be more practical. Does anyone here owned or driven both? What do you think would be better choice? The Boss is a costs a little more (39K) versus 35K for the GT. I am thinking that some current Boss owners may trade their Boss in for a GT350 when it comes out and there may be more available around then so the prices may drop slightly. Any feedback is appreciated!

That's a tough one, both great cars in their own right. The 15 is a better car all around, but not nearly as rare. I say buy whichever looks best to you.

If you are truly considering a Boss you need to get a PP equipped GT. That is my .02.

A few forum members here have gone from a Boss to a new GT PP. Hopefully they will chime in. I know they are all very happy with their choice.

IMO...buy the '15...

The Boss is a nice vehicle...but the solid rear axle is outdated technology...

At the end of the date...the re-styled '15 GT offers huge overall improvements...and as time goes on...the Boss will become less desirable...

Additionally...the new 16' GT350 will also make the Boss 302 look dated in design...

The 2015 is just such a wonderful design...

Just my 2 cent...

What are your plans for it?

Stock for stock the 2015 GT is the better car, and the Performance Pack is awesome and is every bit the match or even a little bit better than the Boss.

A Boss 302 with a higher end coilover kit like the Cortex Extreme Grip system with a torque arm and sways will kick the living shit out of the S550.

Interior is much better in the S550 but the boss is a rare car. Depends on the price and plans for the future upgrades if any if you ask me. Both are a good choice, Its a tough one.

Don't get too hung up on the SRA / IRS hype. Proper suspension design and balance makes the SRA just as good with less durability and wheel hop issues.

Both of the above statements are applicable to the 2015 GT as well.

Because the S550 presented such a drastic departure from the S197's American muscle car aesthetics (as opposed to the more European sport car look of the S550), the S197 look will likely continue to remain desirable moving forward. In the end, the one that feels more desirable and special to you is the right one for you.

I was seriously looking for a '13 Boss, but decided to go '15 GT/PP when I read that the new car was better all around than the Boss.

Pretty high praise when the Boss was always the magazine pick out of the Mustang lineup, even over the mighty GT500.

The Boss is geared towards the car collector type person or someone that races. If you are looking for a daily driver, stick with the '15. That being said, I bet the Boss is worth more in 10 more years.

The only answer is to drive both. The Boss is likely on the lot because someone traded for a 15 most likely. Sounds like the 15 is a winner!

I personally would go for the Boss. It's a more special, rare car. I would especially get it over a 2015 because the 2015 is a regular, run of the mill GT. On top of that, I don't really trust first year model cars.

5K miles is seriously low and practically brand new.
