Are you going to drive it or park it? If you are going to drive it, seems to me the 15 would be the better choice. If you want the rare collector type car you might dust off a couple times a year and cruise to shows, go with the boss.

Personally and very subjectively I think the 15 is a much better looking car. To me the 10-14 looks very bloated. But that is personal opinion.

What should you do? Be happy you have the means to even be making such a decision, drive both, and buy the one that you like best.

What are your plans for it?

Stock for stock the 2015 GT is the better car, and the Performance Pack is awesome and is every bit the match or even a little bit better than the Boss.

A Boss 302 with a higher end coilover kit like the Cortex Extreme Grip system with a torque arm and sways will kick the living shit out of the S550.
If that's the case, couldn't he purchase the cortex kit coming out for the S550 and FRPP half shafts to make it an even better performer?

As for deciding between which car to go with, you can't go wrong with either. S550 would be my choice because I prefer the body style and the interior is a nice place to be. Just my opinion though.

I have a '13 Boss with 3,600 miles on it. It's a great car. The engine is stout with forged internals. It handles well, comfortable around town, revs higher than the S550. It's a special car with future collectability. It's a more analog experience than the new car. It's a raw performance type car and a bit of an animal.

Having said that I'll be selling it once I get a verified order in for a GT350.

I'd buy the 2015 with the performance pack, as ford has aready confirmed it was faster around the track than the Boss 302. You get current tech and the IRS and revised suspension is the way to go

Reading the '12 with 5,000 miles and a '13 with 3,600 miles shows that the BOSS is a car for the garage and the S550 is a DD. FORD already stated that the S550 GT w/PP is faster around the track than the BOSS. I have no use for a car what is "to rare" to drive. For the fun in a Mustang is the S550 the better car if you actually drive it. Drive modes, Line Lock and future upgrades would be IMO things I would like. But if you like to hear and see the "Ahhhh and Ohhh's" on a traffic light - then the BOSS would be the car for what? 500 miles a year??!

I bought mine with 1,100 miles on it last June. I bought it to drive during good weather days. I don't drive it in the rain. What would be the point in that? I drive my truck when it's crappy outside.

Thanks for the input everyone! The Boss is in white and the GT is in DIB. I plan to drive the car daily as I will be averaging 5-6k miles a year at the most. The GT I test drove was a manual with 3.55 gears, which I really liked. After seeing everyone's comments I think I am going to have to test drive a GT PP and then take it from there. The one minor thing about the Boss is it does not have the track key. Will this hurt its resale value or is that more a collector thing?

You should still be able to get the track key and software from Ford. I rarely drive mine without it. It gives a lopey idle and additional engine braking.

Another plus about the B302 is the exhaust system. It sounds way better than the S550. The original owner of my car took the stock mufflers off and installed Magnaflow straight pipes. Sounds wicked.

I would buy the Boss 302. I owned a 2012 302 Laguna Seca. I would wait for the GT350 though

A '13 B302 w/torsen and Recaros are going for roughly $39-42K for a prime example with low miles. The GT350 loaded up will be close to $60K so the pricing isn't all that comparable.

I owned a 2012 Boss 302. The big difference is the interior. The Boss interior is cheap and was meant to be that way. It's the base GT interior even the optional recaros are cloth. The 2015 GT premium is much nicer and has drive mode selection and so much more. Ford says the performance GT package is quicker around the roar course. So the 2015 gives you the best of both worlds. I like the 2013 Boss exterior over the 2012. Also you have to lower the rear of the Boss cause it's just to high. If you love the old 1970 Boss then get the new Boss. The 2013 is really a great looking car.

If I was in the market right now/spring...I'd wait for the 2016 GT/PP W new sync.

I owned a 12 Boss, the new GT/PP is superior in just about every category you can think of, IMO.

The Boss, and the 11-14 GT platform in general, seem to provide a much more visceral driving experience --something lost at the expense of the S550's enhanced refinement. For a daily driver, refinement can definitely be a positive attribute, but if you're more interested in each drive feeling unique/special, then the Boss is likely the way to go.
