Hello,

In US the standard GT is rated at 460 BHP and the Bullit at 480 BHP.
In Europe the GT is rated at 450 BHP, and the Bullit at 460 BHP.

Is this discrepancy exclusively a matter of engine management software? Or are there actual hardware differences?

Thank you.

Nope it's because of GPF added to the euro models to help with EU regulations for CO2 emissions. I think there are ways to remove the GPF though you will need a tune for that but there is no way you are passing emissions inspection after that. In other words seek for power elsewhere :)

I think our manifold primary's are shaped differently and are also of smaller diameter ?

Oh, so US GTs don't have a GPF? I thought all of them had one.
How about the GT vs Bullit then? Is that software only, or does the Bullit have different hardware?

I think our bullit doesn't get some of the US's bullit's engine hardware too ? I've not been as interested in that though to check out the finer details :like:

I know Ford is no stranger to the idea of installing the same engine in different states of tune on different trim levels of a car. 150 BHP vs. 180 BHP on a 2.0 litre diesel Mondeo? Same engine, different software. 150 BHP vs. 182 BHP on a 1.5 litre Ecoboost? Same engine, different software. And the list goes on.
That's why I thought they might be doing the same trick with the various 5.0 Mustangs.

RHD cars have exhaust manifolds which have been Frankensteined to fit the RHD configuration, the one on the RHD driver side has been compromised pretty badly.

Not in the US. Probably because of the dual injection. But haven't heard of straight DI cars having it yet... but it's probably coming soon. The DI engines are almost as dirty as diesels in particulates.

OK, so Euro vs. US is settled.
How about Euro GT vs. Euro Bullit? Both have a GPF, but the Bullit has 10 BHP more. Is this due to software only?

Also, it's interesting to note that the GPF doesn't seem to affect both to the same extent. The GT loses 10 BHP because of the GPF, while the Bullit loses 20 BHP. Any ideas as to why that may be?

Bullitt do have other hardware compared to the regular GT. The manifold, throttle body and intake is different compared to a GT

With a drop in filter, H-pipe and Velossa tech big mouth I was running similar trap speeds to the US counterpart GTs
