I have been watching this form seeing if anyone had a solution for the base radio. I like the idea of installing a 8 or 9 inch Alpine unit but waiting till the end of the year for a dash kit that has been discussed in another tread.

Why not just put the premium screen in a base model does anyone know if it is possible and would it be plug and play. Also besides the screen and bezel what else would you need?

Also would it be Possible to adapt the drive modes.

Thanks in advance for you comments.

bolting the parts in is easy, but the wiring may not be there, and the means of getting the modules programmed and functioning isn't something that's readily available to most.

Sounds like more work than its worth if there is programming involved. Wish Ford would have offered a Navigation on the base model as a option. I thought the leather on the Recaro seats looked and felt cheap.

Ford makes it hard so that we cant buy aftermarket infotainment. So our only choice is to get the premium trim from them.

I hope theres a easy solution soon. I need this.
There is!! A few wires have to be swapped in the connector to get it working but the MFT screen does work in base models!!! Myself and aggieStang are working on completing the install. AggieStang is using a premium bezel while I am modifying the base bezel to accept the screen. As long as my bezel works this looks to be a rather inexpensive mod for what you get.
