I could explain, but I would be violating a client's confidence. Suffice it to say that Tremec's work on the DCT began with collaboration with GM on C8. GT500 got added later, even though C8 always had a later planned launch date. No way GT500 would have launched at its original timing as a second development on an all new DCT.
Fair enough.

I don't doubt this at all. If release was already pushed back, may as well update with something unique and better performing, even if it adds overall development time

Is there a write up somewhere explaining exactly what’s different between the two transmissions?

Being a Camaro driver in a Mustang forum makes wearing an opposing team jersey into Raider Nation feel like a trip to the library. :surprised:
It's actually very nice to have you in here.

GT350 with DCT would significantly close the gap on the GT500, and outlap most cars, especially a zl1. Though it should be an option, it would detract from gt500 sales and exclusivity/uniqueness
No DCT in the 350, it would ruin the car. The GT500 absolutely needs the automatic with that power level.

This is the best info I am aware of...

GT500 TR-9070: http://www.tremec.com/anexos/TREMEC_TR-9070.pdf

Corvette TR-9080: http://www.tremec.com/anexos/TREMEC_TR-9080DCT_literature.PDF

A lot more detail, including gear ratios, provided for the GT500 version than the Corvette version. Corvette version has eLSD incorporated, the GT500 version does not. The GT500 version has a 900 Nm torque rating, the Corvette 800 Nm.
