is the factory supercharger on the GT500 watercooled or intercooled in any way?
Yes. Ford would have to be the biggest bunch of incompetent morons not to. It looks to be pretty small though so I don't know how well it holds up.

> air-to-liquid intercooler mounted on the top of the supercharger.
> uses a bar-plate cooler, which is a low-temp intercooler above the supercharger rotors.

That's not exactly how the launch control works with this car.
Turn launch control off. Launch control is for the noobs. I have a buddy that has a bmw M5. He uses launch control. I'm 3/10s faster than him. In his own car. With me turning off all the nannies.

While typically I would agree with you, I will say good luck getting a 760HP DCT PD blower car to 60ft on average street tires without it. ALL of the Ford Engineers present at the strip heard countless claims like yours (from rather accomplished drivers) and yet apparently none of the 'non-noob' drivers could beat their LC- go figure...

Ill bet you evan will do better without it.

I like to disassemble things.

Did you run on and then off to compare how well it worked for you?

Yes, I also saw that. Stangmode has a base vs track video where they talk about it.

Basically, they said the CFTP will intuitively downshift and be prepared in auto doing track work.

They didn’t say it, but it sounds like the CFTP has more of a “PDK” tune than the base model. Anyone who has driven a Porsche or seen PDK track review will understand.

And hopefully it’s true! Sucks for the base case though.
All GT500s (base have& CFTP) have the same transmission calibration.

Automatic shifting in "Track Mode" is programmed for ideal shift points to be in the best gear for putting down the best lap times around a road course. The shift strategy In "Normal" and "Sport" modes differ based on their purpose.

IMO with Street tires you are likely not going to 'out do' the computer, now with Drag Radials....that is a different story. Talking about 1/4 drag racing only.

Good to hear about the DCT calibration being the same. Interesting that some that attended the event have reported otherwise.

7:27 mark, note what they are saying about the transmission...

Thanks very much for the clarification Billy.

because they are just repeating other ill-informed commentary. Or didn't bother to actually check all settings and write them down and cross-check. Furthermore did they instrument the shift points (data-log, sound record etc) to actually prove a difference? Or are they just going off of highly inaccurate sensory perception?
