I work on the ortega and we were just notified by CHP that the ortega Hwy will be closed for approx the next 3 weeks :(

[IN THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AREA]
IS CLOSED 3.8 MI EAST OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO (ORANGE CO) - DUE TO A SINKHOLE - MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO USE AN ALTERNATE ROUTE

It doesn't say how long it will be closed. I can't see them taking 3 weeks to repair it as this is a main Hwy used for work commuters. Either way we will keep an eye on it and will have an alternate cruise prepared in case it's still closed.

I asked the Highway Dept. to put some nice burms in on some of the sharp turns, since they were already going to be out there.
