Who is your carrier? I would be happy to get a quote.
Geico. They beat all hell out of the local MA insurers for car rates (and did the same for my daughter in California). Homeowner's is competitive with the local guys. Umbrella liability is notably MORE expensive than the local guys.

Overall, I'm probably 20% lower than if I went all local. If I could get homeowner + umbrella local and Geico for the cars, I'd be in clover. However, EVERY local company that I've spoken to won't write the umbrella if they don't write the cars, regardless of the underlying car insurance levels. They're clearly worried about the car insurer cutting a deal in the event of an accident that leaves them open on a follow-up suit.

Of course while the humans are patched up the vehicles can get a whole new fight over who repairs / pays for what.
If the humans are patched up, it's just a fight over things. Things can be replaced.

It's when it goes the other way that it's horrible. A friend was at fault in an accident where she cut in front of a motorcyclist who hit her and died 2 days later. Devastated his family terribly and crushed a lot of the spirit out of her.

Thanks. Geico's quote in my suburban PA zipcode was 50% higher for a paid-up-front policy for two cars. $800 vs $1200. Granted that was without a discount for having homeowner coverage with them. I could not quote both policies without buying one first in their online process. I sincerely doubt a multi policy discount would get them in the ballpark in light of the disparity. Obviously they are more competitive in your state. Oh, and they would only quote me $100k property damage liability as opposed to the $300k I have.

This post needs to self activate ( deleted) before the US insurance companies read this. Do not give them any more reasons to up rates. 😬

Yeah but much as I hate to say it just give it a little time...
That's exactly right, we're inching more and more into a 'permit' society. We'll get there too. Some people just love it when others control their personal lives while those that control it do it under the guise of creating that utopian society their professors always discussed is possible under a Socialist/Communist regime.
