Seriously, these cars have to have their weight checked at each event, (and during the event), and have to run street car blowers (unmodified) and a specific pulley combo, so they can't over spin them.

There are now TWO of these P-1X powered machines running 8.0's and a third about to join them!

ProCharger P-1X
ProCharger 2015+ Stage 2 bracket (EO bracket for Stacey)
ProCharger Coyote Cranksupport (For Sammie)
8 rib belts!

Sammie Moore - 8.003@171 (backed up to become record)
Stacey Roby - 8.04@170

Maybe I am just old, but when I grew up watching Mustangs race, no street car stuff was going 7's (or even bottom 8's). Its just amazing what is being done these days.

Right! It feels like the class rules have their hands almost tied behind their backs... and they STILL come out faster than ever...

I "think" they are TH400 cars. I know that the third car on its way to the 7's is, I would guess these are as well. Since its SO much cheaper to make a TH400 live at this power level and anything else

Saw the videos. Very impressive! My car will be in the 9's next time out, with only 2 power mods. P1X and Fuel. Stock engine, trans, and diff. P1X is the little blower that can. When my trans does go, I'll add a converter to it. Did a little test hit yesterday after installing a smaller pulley, and it spun the 13.5" X30" ET street R's at launch after a burnout off idle, and spun them again hard into second. No "Centri Lag" here. Can't wait to get back to the strip.

Crazy for sure. I don't think it was THAT long ago that Pro5.0 cars cracked the 7 second barrier, in full on race cars. 2000 maybe?

Jim Summers was the man that did that, and the first 6.99. (ProCharger powered actually)
My father has the blower belt from that pass hanging in his garage actually. :)

That's madness. Large shots of nitrous? Im not familiar with class rules.

Insane regardless!

These are pretty much full on race cars when you add in the tricks/parts/secrets to them. Not even remotely close to your typical drivers car. These are shop cars with more money and time than you can imagine into them. In the end though, the P1/D1X compressors will do some work when forced to absolutely....

Regardless, I bet these current cars are close to 1000lbs heavier than the early 2000s pro 5.0 cars 😉

I remember Tim Lynch running 7's in NMRA was a BIG deal.

No N20
8 rib Belt
Air to Air intercooler (screw blowers get to have air to water, LUCKY)
Fixed blower pulley sizes (blower can't be over-spun)
Unmodified P1X street blower
3800+ lb race weight

Yes, they are built motors, with the latest goodies. But 170+ MPH is crazy for the weight.
