If you want to reduce Co2 emissions, ban airplanes, not ICE cars.
But that is just not practical though. Not really a good argument for doing nothing.

Gasoline accounts for less than half of oil usage. Better to ban plastics and asphalt. People forget we pave our roads with oil.

This is all happening becasue, well...us. We did this to ourselves. The damn internet and people posting all sorts of dumb shit that gets noticed. Those morons rolling coal or whatever, total douche bags. There was a cable TV show. All the tuner companies with their F-You videos to the Feds messing with things in the tunes they knew full well was illegal. Catless headers, cat delete pipes, defeat tunes, O2 plugs/deletes, etc. openly for sale on all sorts of websites replete with how-to videos. Then there are all the idiot drivers taking over the streets, racing like they own the place, trips to "Mexico", etc. all the while detailing all the federal violations they did to get fast.

Think about it.
I've never understood the idea of shouting out and putting on display the exact things that people don't want others (or the government) to know/care about 🙄

The Government has been going after auto companies for decades for Clean Air Violations. Watch the episode of Dirty Money-Bad NOx on Netflix. Volkswagen's greed to become the #1 Automaker had them create a cheat device to fool those doing the testing that their "Clean Diesel" cars were meeting the standards. This investigation went on for years. Then the EPA started to go after Diesel Truck Manufacturers, then Diesel Truck Performance companies, now they have migrated to our neck of the woods. The RPM Act doesn't even protect the average consumer looking to modify their own car, only cars modified for "off road use only". Sadly our performance market seems so fragmented that the finances needed to drive a push to congress that we can have performance cars on the roads, with aftermarket parts (yes with EPA approved cats) can be a thing. If you're an "offroad only" car then it needs to be registered as so.

Jul 25, 2018 — Aircraft fuel burn varies with the engine model, aircraft model (length) and flight duration but a very average number for 737s is 5000 pounds (750 gal) per hour

https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-fuel-consumption-of-737-800-on-a-typical-2-hour-flight

Just one source

You are missing the point, We are not running out of oil. One airplane flying 4 hours sends the same amount of Co2 as a passenger car driving 60,000 miles.

If you want to reduce Co2 emissions, ban airplanes, not ICE cars.
I'd love to see you get 166 people in your car :cwl: If they don't fly then they either have to go on a train, several busses or about 80 cars. That is why the plane stacks up as a mass transport device over long distances. Road transport is a major contributor to global CO2 (as is air travel) so together with heating is the major area where the biggest impacts can be made.

Irrelevant whether we are running out of oil or not we will not be using it. Planes will be using electricity / hydrogen / synthetic fuels well before the oil runs out.

Although aviation contributes significantly road transport is by far the largest contributor in the transport sector (which is second only behind heating) Figures for Europe in 2014 for CO2 and energy demand

We’re #84 on the list of worst polluting countries. I’m pretty sure my free flowing exhaust isn’t an issue.

I don't know what the point is you are failing to make. Road traffic produces more CO2, CO2 per mile per person is lower by air. You keep going on about stopping panes but seem unable to grasp that road traffic is responsible for more CO2.

Both methods of transport will have to change for the future - that includes your contribution however it is made.

with hundreds of people on board - you really don't get this do you !

Why don't you ban buses and trains as well - they produce more CO2 than your car?
