Hi All,

I’ve a concern about the tuner lug nuts that must be used on aftermarket wheels.

The lug nuts that came with my wheels are the fluted type and are Kosei branded. Can these handle many on/off cycles without the fluting getting chewed up? I’m using these new wheels for track duty only. The pockets on the rims are quite deep, so if these strip, there’s no way to get them off without destroying the wheel. I never use an impact gun.

I’m also in the 148lb ft camp for wheel torque.

Any horror stories out there?

Get some of the Gorilla tuner lugs if you're worried. No issues with them or the Coyote Accessories ones. Yes always keep with the stock torque value with lugs with a 60 degree seat. The torque is for the stud, not the wheel or lugs.

Gorilla here as well.

Just stay away from any aluminum tuner nuts.

Whats up with the knurled/open ends and length of those lugs. I've never seen that before, not sure I like the appearance. Are there any recommended ones that look more traditional?

Used gorillas with good results. +1 on a torque wrench @148.

That's what tuner lugs are. They are open ended for longer studs, particularly for those that have to use spacers up front for a square setup for dedicated track wheels. The knurled ends help with spinning the lugs on quicker by hand.

I’ve used Gorillas without problem, but OEM stud bolts are another story. The can’t handle the repeated use. I use these now:

ARP are good also. I’d say that if you are going to track the car, go this route.
