My MT-82 is on its way out. Ive never liked this tranny, so I'm thinking of a Magnum XL. Does the PCM need to know gear ratios? I have but not installed pp3, would ford pp3 tune work with a Tremec? Down the road I want to be FI, so should I just bight the bullet early and get a Lund tune for the pp3 and I know they could mess with tranny ratios. Would like to save a little money since the pp3 is already paid for, and ngauge and tune is another 600 bucks

As far as I know, the ECU/PCM doesn't even care about the gear ratios or what gear you're on...no tune should be required.

With a manual car there's nothing in the tune that needs to be changed for it to work or function properly.

When I swapped mine in I lost cruise in 5 and 6 gears. Lund needed to tweak my tune slightly to allow for cruise to work in all gears.

Thanks for the help. Just one less thing to worry about. Im gonna use a dokata digital box for the oss. Even if my cruise dont work though not a big deal, I never use it.

I've just programmed the wrong ratios in tune and...

MIL, Cruise not working, ESP not working. So it is important to say the least.

No probs - it occurred at higher speeds using 5th or 6th as mentioned above - it threw a code and advance trac light went on.
It's no biggie - just put a correct ratios int that table and you would be on the road in no time.

Lund redid my tune when I switched.... It helps with torque management I believe.
