Anybody taken their car to a dealership yet so things will be documented in OASIS? Scheduled mine for next weekend. Curious to hear how the dealers have been responding to this. Will try and get them to check in the parking lot. Otherwise will babysit the car throughout the whole process. Too many bad experiences with dealers in the past...

Had the Ford rep make a house call. They can do that within reasonable distance. Was reported in oasis

Looks good to me, you have the "groove" ie tensioner activated.

In the other thread, a member appears pretty sure his is bad, and it was built a year earlier than the start of Ford's TSB date range.

That would be me. And I've checked it hot, cold, turned the crankcase by hand, checked it everytime I've driven it, etc. It hasn't changed. And I've looked at other people's GT350's and can clearly see theirs activated. And FWIW, the F150's with the 5.0L use the same tensioners. And I have one and checked it, and it's activated.
Have an appointment with a dealer in 10 days(I'm on vacation till then, at the GT350 Tack Attack. And I will speak to the mechanics there about this problem.), and I will see what they say. If it's not truly activated, then we have to fight with Ford to somehow get it approved for fixing.
With my luck, the dealer will see it activated, and I'll look like a fool. But I can stop worrying. But I'll need to see it myself before I stop worrying.

I like to disassemble things.
I wanted to take a closer look at the secondary chain tensioner itself so I ordered one through my Ford Parts guru - thanks again Bryan. I filmed a quick video with my phone to hopefully capture a better view of the tensioner.

In a nutshell, if you can see the groove like this you should be all good (assuming the tensioner on the other cylinder head was released as well).

If your tensioner is still compressed such that you see no groove as in the above photo you may want to stop driving your car and contact your dealer immediately.

Note that the guides themselves are subject to wear and can be replaced. So if you notice a chewed up guide you may want to have that serviced in short order. As I mentioned in the video, the guides are made from PA46.

PA46 "enables lower frictional torque in comparison with any other material (e.g. PA66) at relatively low engine speeds ranging from idle to 1800 rpm. PA46 allows for reliable solutions due to its high abrasion resistance (7 times better than PA66)." For more on PA46 see the attached pdf.

Watch this gentleman install a secondary chain/gears and listen to what he says at the 17:44 mark...

@Epiphany
Thanks Tob for taking the time to order the part, fabricate a test fixture and produce the video.

I was looking at a previous video you posted earlier that showed the activation of the tensioner. It looks like the tensioner was activated by downward compression and required no rotation.

Is there anyway that the tensioner could be recocked and returned to the deactivated stage?

It would not release without rotation. I agree with you though, that video makes it appear as all you have to do is to push down to release a new one. That may be the case, I need to play with more of these:) And I probably tried 50 times or so, with every variation you could imagine....once released you cannot "lock it back up" in its original position - probably a good thing.
