What up auto guys, I just saw a similar thread about cyl head temps and it reminded me that I've been wondering about this gauge. My trans oil temps vary wildly depending on how I drive and where (city vs hwy). On my morning trip to work I can take a 20min drive and it will not pass 175 degrees, but on a trip to the gym or something with a lot of stop and go I've seen it consistently top out at around 205 degrees

What temps do you guys see and what would you consider dangerous?

I have a 170 t-stat from livernois that I'll be installing at some point but not sure how much that will help with trans

That about right, on highway runs the converter is locked and that keeps the tranny cooler, when your in town the converter is constantly locking and unlocking and slipping which heats the tranny right up. Here again, the tranny MUST have heat in it to live. 175 tranny temp is the absolute lowest I would ever beat on the car at.
