Its like having a smoking hot blonde at the beach house AND a smoking hot redhead at the ski / hunting cabin.

Where oh where to spend the weekend????

Great cars doing what they were meant to do.

It's even better than that... The blonde and the redhead sleep in the same room together and never get jealous, or complain about each other.:sunglasses:

You guys must be young. Such confidence.

The mature crowd knows to enjoy the wine in your glass and savor it.
Drink it too fast and you miss the body or other subtle notes.
Mix it with another and you get a blend. Rarely do blends carry the enjoyment of the base nectar.

Oh yeah and old guys are happy just to get a friggin sip.

I'd love to hear the non hype track information, (too many fannyboy youtube videos out there....I've heard the "best Mustang ever" for past 20years
For me any car with a $100k - $150k price tag needs to have vertical flight ...not vinyl stripes
Track guys know car weight EATS tires and brakes, and more weight eats more parts
The reported weight on both 2020 GT500 weight is 4000++lbs.....please share your specific weight
Do you know 60to0 braking data?
Cost, availability and track life of GT500 front brakes & SC2 tires?
Do you need to have a track only alignment?
Do you plan to track the CF rims? do you know cost and availability of CF rims?

I'm just happy that the GT500 needs a 20k option to really beat the pants off the R. At the 500's base trim they're still competitive, and at that point I'd take the R 10/10 times. The 500 is an amazing machine...but it does nothing for me, especially in the context of a road course.

I like to disassemble things.
Ford was smart to only allow a 4S tire on the Base car. Looks like it kept some R model owners very happy.

I was surprised how well the base GT500 w/4S tires performed on track. I was hardly trying and easily cutting lap times better than my GT350TP with Cup2’s. Can’t wait to wear these out and buy some Cup2’s. Here’s my G readings for that day:

And those brakes! I never even got into ABS. Wasn’t trying very hard as this was my first event in this car and the ambients were about 100* most of time.

All I know is - I cant wait for the NEXT cool car to come out after the GT500...so I can go into the forums for the new car and stroke my self about how much better my previous gen car is.

P - car... strangely appropriately named :). I haven't even started taking the 964 apart...and while I think it will be awesome - it will never have what these new cars have. It's just a different kind of thing.

To be clear I make no mistake about the GT500 being a "superior" car in almost any technical measure. But it's different enough in philosophy that I don't feel like I'm missing out. I like the voodoo I like the manual I like the lighter weight and CF wheels included for 70k. If I went to the dealership today I'd still take an R without a second thought. I might still even if the 500's CFTP was standard at the base price. Which is what I'm glad for, they're different enough cars that I'm not sitting at home wishing I had a GT500 instead despite it being an amazing achievement.

...and he doubles down. The point was - generally considered tacky to go to a forum for a car that you don't own and talk about the great decision you made on your own car. At least you got a good color combo - I could be biased though.
