I'm going whipple stage 2 and already own 19x10 / 19x11 rims, so I'm looking at something that can put the power down but also be fun to handle around corners. Dimension wise I'm looking 285/30/19 for the Proxes Sport and 305/30/19 for the R888rs. If I stuck with R888Rs all around then I'd have to go 265/35/19 with the 19x10. I'm sure mixing these two tires isn't a huge deal but just wanted to see if anybody has tried this combo or what they thought.

I have the R888R (front and rear) and they've worked best for me in balancing straight line and cornering grip (Used Michelin PSS, Michelin PS4S, and Nitto 555[G2 front + R2 rear]) so you're on the right track.
On my first set of the R888R I had the inside fronts get chewed up relatively early so I've made some alignment adjustments and will see how it holds up.

I was also looking into the Toyo Proxes Sport for the front and from what I've read they should pair well with the R888R in the rear.
If I have further issues with R888R front I'll be switching to the Sport for the front myself.
I used my first set of rears for about 8000 miles. They still had decent straight line grip but I replaced them anyway as the tread was almost done. Obviously mileage will heavily depend on how you use them.

I have 19x10 + 19x11 wheels as well and run 285/35/19 + 325/30/19 with an ESS G3 kit at about 800whp.

Wow those 325s actually fit the rim pretty good! On their website it says an 11.5 is the ideal width but an 11 would work too. Now you've got me thinking about those sizes actually.

Well actually, burning through R888Rs in the front would be far more expensive than longer lasting Proxes Sport ...

I've gotta think about it ... but good to know they should pair up well! Your set up looks great btw.

On the 2019 I have Toyo Proxes up front, but Nitto’s in the back. I will be going full Toyo or the new Conti’s when I need new tires.

Are you considering full Toyo because the mixed brands are causing some issues? Or just doesn't feel kosher lol

My situation is a little different, but maybe not as unique as I think. Of course, the rears of the original tires went out real fast, so I got the Toyo Proxes for the rear. Then I got the new wheels that I have, and moved the Proxes to the front and went bigger and got new Nitto’s for the back. I couldn’t get Proxes for the back because they weren’t available at the time. So, to slowly answer your question, the answer is no issues at all. It was just how it happened front to rear.

Oh awesome! Yeah those 8 inch stockers I had in the base package are such a shame lol. Gotta go wide!

I have ran a few different tire combos on my 2020 PP2 using the R888's.... (1) being a square setup of 305/30/19.... (2) 305/30/19 front and 315/30/19 rear.... (3) and the last combo being the 325 in the rear.... It is lowered and I did not have any issues....

How is the livability with the R888R's from a road noise perspective?
Good Morning!!!!
I wanted to take a few moments to touch on my experience with the R888's....
I'll start with the "Road Noise"-There is a considerable amount of "hum" while driving.... I noticed it immediately after switching from the "Cup 2's".... The noise was low and steady....
In terms of the "Livability"- I had some friends with high horsepower Mustangs, upwards of 850-1000 HP, they ran the 888's and raved about them and I decided to give them a go.... I had no expectations other than pairing my PP2 with a good tire to handle the abuse that I would give it....
and to my surprise, it did well.... The broad shoulders kept the car level, minimizing the nose diving and body roll.... I thought it was a suitable tire in many ways.... They provide direct steering, are sporty, it's ideal when conditions are dry(of course) but did well during "Wet Braking" , and the grip is excellent(good rolling resistance).... And I thought it had a very good lifespan, about 8000 miles....

I hope this helps....

This has been my exact experience as well in all aspects.
You get used to the noise and forget about it at some point.
Small price to pay for the benefits and dare I say I even "enjoy" the noise now.

I've done a lot of research and experimented myself and at 700+ whp I'm yet to see a better street legal tire that balances both straight-line and cornering grip.
